Trick or treat, bag of sweets, ghosts are walking down the street.
Mandy Cotton Candy, Nellie Nibbles, Yellow Marshmallow, and Chocolat Blythe wish you a happy Halloween! For the theme “Trick or Treat” in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook.
Blythe Adores Anna Sui is too beautiful to be scary, but she tries, with one last “Boo!” until next year.
We’re just killing time until Halloween.
Sarah Shades and Lena Elena mark time in this chalk board flat lay for the theme “Killing time” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
“These candy eyes reminds me of the time in my childhood when I cried my eyes out. They were really hard to put back in!”
Daunting Drusilla has a lot of interesting stories…you never know what she’s going to come out with. For the theme “cry your eyes out” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
Everything seems to cost an arm and a leg these days, so Maeve always brings a few extras when she goes shopping.
Chocolat Blythe poses for the theme “Costs an arm and a leg” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. A few years ago, I bought a box of used Petite Blythes and clothes. One of the dolls had the infamous crumbling pelvis, so her legs were in the bag, but not attached. They came in handy for this picture!
“Welcome! You found us just in time. The party is about to begin.”
Sarah Shades, Lena Elena, and Chocolat Blythe are the lovely witches (wearing their best hats) for the theme “Witch hunt” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
“Eat, Mr. Crow! Haven’t you heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day?”
Sarah Shades for the theme “Eat crow” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I only bought a few props for Halloween this year, and this crow, from Target, has been quite useful! He has appeared in several of my Halloween photos.
Join Zelda on YouTube as she tells you how to make this devilish decoration using just balsa wood, glue and paint. It will be a hit at your Halloween party!
Zelda is, of course, Blythe Adores Anna Sui. This picture is for the theme “Speak of the devil” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
Her conversation is tedious, but her brew is delicious.
Cloud 9 Bowl bores Sarah Shades for the theme “In one ear and out the other” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I cracked myself up creating this silly picture!
No one needs to know that the special ingredient in their “Boiling Blood Brew” isn’t blood—it’s hot sauce!

In my little Facebook group called Blythe Pure and Simple, we have a weekly photo challenge. I usually post a picture on the first or second day, but this week I’ve been busy working on pictures for the Blythe a Day group on Flickr that it wasn’t until today that I turned my thoughts to this week’s theme: “You’re so BOO-tiful.” Since Blythe Adores Anna Sui is one of my top favorite Blythes, and since she works well for Halloween with her dark purple hair, she was the one I chose as my model.
“Take away this mask of flesh and bone, and see me for my soul alone.” —Jay Asher/The Mind’s Journal

I peeked in a window, and what did I see? A spooky little face looking back at me!
Bow Wow Trad and Sarah Shades face off for the theme “You’re so transparent” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. In this case, it’s the window that’s transparent! It is actually a picture frame that I found at my local antique mall. Bow Wow’s mask is a printout from the internet.
Do not enter the woods on Halloween. There’s not a ghost of a chance you will emerge unscathed.
That’s Allegra Champagne, posing for the theme “Ghost of a chance” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The small, illuminated ghosts are part of my daughter’s collection of Department 56 Halloween village pieces.
Don’t be sad, Milky Way. Be like Bow Wow and look on the bright side.
For the theme “Every cloud has a silver lining” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
“Hello? HELLO? I distinctly heard someone say ‘Bat out of hell.’ Do not summon me if you do not need me. It makes me VERY ANGRY!”
Okay, Drusilla, whatever you say! For the theme “B— out of h—” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I guess she is some sort of bat demon, but I think she is adorable when she’s angry! I painted this background when I was experimenting with acrylic paint. When I was done, I wondered what I would ever be able to use it for. Now I know!
The local pizza shop devised a way to project an image of a pizza into to night sky; everyone who sees it is irresistibly drawn to the restaurant. That’s marketing genius!
Sarah Shades and Lady Panacea pose for the theme “Pie in the sky” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. This is a BIG chalkboard I just got for doing flat lays; it’s at least twice as big as my old one, so I can make bigger pictures. I love it!
A little birdie told me “Being wicked is more fun!” I don’t know if he’s right or not; I’ve always been good.
Bow Wow Trad poses for the theme “A little birdie told me” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
When she walks past the cemetery after work at the blood bank, Drusilla always wonders what the story is with all the elephants on that grave. She doesn’t know anything about it, though, so she just enjoys the mystery.
For the theme “Elephant in the room” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
Molly had a great haul when she went trick or treating: candy bars, gummy bears, lollipops, and, inexplicably, three rubber chickens.
Mod Molly poses for the theme “Don’t count your chickens” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The amazing Frankenstein treat bag was made by Angie Coppi.
“The weatherman said it was going to rain cats and dogs…but this is CANDY CORN!!
Mod Molly poses for the theme “Raining cats and dogs” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
We wish to offer you some expert advice: when you are enjoying an outdoor picnic, and you discover a line of black wiggles advancing towards you, beware! You may soon have ants in your pants.
Update: Neither Bow Bow Trad nor Mod Molly reported having any ants in their pants after posing for the theme “Ants in your pants” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The beautiful Halloween pillows, and the picnic blanket (really a bed blanket, barely visible in this picture) were made by the fabulous Angie Coppi.
“For the party tonight, I’ve made my famous eye candy—using real eyeballs! Tell me if you will be there so I can save you the biggest one.”
(Sorry Drusilla…I don’t think I can make it. Love your necklace though! It looks like an Angie Coppi original, am I right?) For the theme “Eye candy” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
“Hey, look at me, I’m a cloud! This was the easiest Halloween costume ever!”
Tokyo Bright looks great in white! For the theme “Head in the clouds” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The cute ghostly treat bag was made by Angie Coppi.
What an honor! Chocolat Blythe won first prize in the Decorated Hat contest at the Witches Ball!

Someday, she hopes to go to law school and then become a judge; but for now she’s just a little girl playing with her toys.
This Middie Blythe doll is Francoise Ananassa posing for the theme “Kangaroo Court” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I was super excited when I discovered these plastic kangaroos in my drawer of doll props, because I was having trouble coming up with an idea for this theme. I decided to make it easy on myself and not try to incorporate Halloween into this one.
This is an actual photograph of the moment when house monsters were first discovered on October 31, 1972 by Elfrida Blythe (the word bubble was later added by her sister, who took the photograph and heard her sister speak this phrase.) Since then, she has become a household name, because everything we know about these creatures is thanks to her years of studying them.
(Lady Panacea poses for the theme “There’s no such thing as monsters “ in the FB group Blythe Pure and Simple.)
“Pee yew! This paint is stinky! But it will be worth the smell when everyone sees my giant technicolor rat skeleton on Halloween!”
This Blythe doll is Milky Way Sugar, posing for the theme “I smell a rat” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. This was the only rat-related item I could come up with on short notice…thanks, Target!
When pigs fly, it’s proper etiquette to give them the window seat.
Cloud 9 Bowl, a Sonny Angel pig and a Lalaloopsy pig pose for the theme “When Pigs Fly” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
“If you say ‘A penny for your thoughts,” you haven’t adjusted for inflation.”
This Blythe doll is Cloud 9 Bowl, whom I named Penny…so she HAD to be the doll I used for the theme “A penny for your thoughts” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. She’s wearing a new dress and hair clip I made to add to the girl’s small wardrobe of Halloween outfits.
“Madame Zyanya sees all and knows all! Your tea leaves show me that in your life, there is a storm approaching!!! —Oh wait, I picked up the weather channel. Your REAL fortune is that you will come into money unexpectedly.”
Zyanya Remembers and Minty Magic pose for the theme “Storm in a teacup” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
“It’s my favorite time of year, so I made a cake. Would you like a piece?”
She is Chocolat Blythe, posing for the theme “A piece of cake” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.
You’ll feel on top of the world when you ride the Galaxy 500…no other broom flies higher!
Chocolat Blythe is proud to endorse her favorite broom, for the theme “On top of the world” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. Since it’s October, I’m going to try to put a Halloween spin on my interpretation of the daily themes. Fingers crossed I can come up with something for each one!
