Lady Panacea seems the obvious choice for this theme, with her healing vibe. The dress she’s wearing is surprisingly similar to her stock dress; I got it as part of a “lot” of items before she was produced. The backdrop is a piece of fabric. My Melody X Blythe is wearing the periwinkle dress I made for Tsumori…it looks great on both of them (and Miss Sally Rice too.) The shop girl is Ichigo Heaven. The big bakery display case is the main reason I purchased this Hello Kitty play set; isn’t it great? Some of the baked goods came with the set and others are from my collection. There sure are a lot of bows in this picture, aren’t there?? I thought about counting them, but I didn’t want to go cross-eyed.

Tsumori Spirit Dazzling Blythe has fabulous periwinkle colored hair. My friend Angie was fortunate enough to receive this doll for Christmas, and she recently asked me to make a dress and headband that would match that gorgeous hair. She sent me the fabric and trims, and here is the result. I love this outfit on her sooo much! Thanks for sending enough materials that I could make an outfit for my Tsumori too, Angie! I got a great surprise yesterday, when I opened the new “My Life As…Hello Kitty Bakery Play Set” that I bought at Walmart: it included scenery! The inside of the bakery is printed on one side, and the outside is on the reverse of a large piece of heavy cardboard.
I bought the set because it has a wonderful bakery display case, which I have been wanting for a long time, and it has lots of nice doughnuts and cupcakes, and even some beverages, in addition to a bench seat and two little tables. I thought the $40 price tag was a bit steep, but I REALLY wanted the display case, so I got it. It wasn’t until I was opening the packaging that I realized that the scenery was included, hidden between the inner and outer packaging. I’m so glad I noticed, and didn’t throw it away! Now the price seems reasonable. This set is intended for 18” dolls, so it takes a little work to get the proportions to look okay in a picture. Here’s my first one, with Hello Arden (left) and Minty Magic (right). I will show off the coveted display case soon!
Cupcakes really do make a day feel special—I guess that’s why there are so many stores dedicated to these little cakes. I recently shopped at a local place called Extraordinary Cupcakes, because it was my mother’s 96th birthday and I wanted to take something fun to her at her senior residence. When I opened the box and she saw the cupcake, she laughed!
