Midnight Snack

At the stroke of midnight, when the I-Scream Parlor opens, Scarlet is pleased to find herself first in line at the takeaway hatch.

This Petite Blythe doll is Sweet Spell Scarlet; her two friends are Sonny Angel dolls. The I-Scream Parlor is a purse! I just got it, and a similar one for my daughter, to use when we go to Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens (there is a “no big bags” policy for this Halloween event, so these small, flat bags are perfect). It is so detailed and fun, and it even glows in the dark! It’s from Vendula London. For the theme “Midnight” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Boo!

We’re having a Boo Bash, and you are invited! Come dressed as a ghost…just “boo” it!

Bow Wow Trad is joined by all the different ghosts I could scare up for the theme “Just Boo It” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The background is a jigsaw puzzle.

Batty

Flickering over the face of the moon,
The spooky bats will be here soon.
Get under the covers and hide your head,
The safest place to be is in bed.

Cadence Majorette has no fear of bats, apparently—she decided just to cover her eyes, not her whole head. The pretty sleep mask (I just love the sprinkling of beads and buttons!), pillows, and coverlet were all made by my friend Angie Coppi. For the theme “A Little Batty” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. Starry sky: wrapping paper, moon: scrapbooking paper, bats: cutouts, window: picture frame.

Bone

It’s official: the color for this Halloween season is Bone White!

Cadence Majorette’s pale hair and complexion make her the ideal model for this color. This picture is for the theme “Bones” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Decorating Fun

“Decorating for Halloween is so much fun!……Haha, who am I kidding? My house always looks like this!”

My Daunting Drusilla makes her first Halloween appearance of the year for the theme “Keep Out” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Epitaphs

It’s a beautiful night to walk through the cemetery and read the old epitaphs.

These Blythe dolls are Plaid Parade and Sarah Shades, wearing dresses I made, posing for the theme “Epitaph” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Brunettes

One more picture for the Blythe doll giveaway in the group Blythe World on Facebook. These three brown-haired beauties are Dear Forest Dear, Raspberry Sorbet, and Blue Rabbit. RS was my very first Blythe, purchased in 2012, and I wondered at the time if I was nuts to pay $150 for a doll, because I was NOT a doll person. After getting her, it didn’t take long for me to become a doll person! DFD and BR appeal to me because they are very similar to my beloved Raspberry Sorbet…but I must admit that Blue Rabbit’s strong coloring makes her my favorite of the three. They are wearing dresses I made, and fun Halloween necklaces from my friend Angie Coppi.

Duck!

If you are looking for a fun Fall activity, we suggest going to the pond to feed the ducks. Be sure to bring plenty of candy corn!

These Blythe dolls are Quintessential Journey (Neo) wearing Woolly Rockers, and Puchippu Chappu Pepa (Middie) wearing part of a set from Junie Moon, for the theme “Duck” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The Halloween treat bags are by Angie Coppi.

Cinnamoroll

In Blythe World on Facebook, a very generous person is giving away three NRFB Blythe dolls. All you have to do to enter the giveaway is post a picture of one of your “grail” dolls, so I reached for Cinnamoroll. This is only the second picture I’ve taken of her, even though I’ve had her for a month or two…I just love this stock outfit and I wasn’t ready to change her clothes, but now that I’ve photographed her again, I will redress her soon.

Spooky Time

“Anyone could see that the wind was a special wind this night, and the darkness took on a special feel because it was All Hallows’ Eve.” — Ray Bradbury, “The Halloween Tree”

These pretty witches are Aurella Amphitrite and Plaid Parade stirring up some magic for the theme “Stay Spooky” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I made the illuminated smoke from scrapbooking paper, and put a small light in the cauldron for a spooky effect.

Face Your Fears

Even experienced trick-or-treaters can feel their courage waver on Halloween.

This Middie Blythe doll is Puchippu Chappu Pepa (I still have to look up her name every time!); the Neo Blythe is Quintessential Journey. This picture is for the theme “Face Your Fears” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The house and trees are metal decor pieces from Michael’s.

Eyes

The walk back home was rather strange; they felt that they were being watched every step of the way.

Lovely Katherine’s Corner and Yellow Marshmallow are posing for the theme “‘Eye’ See You” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Poison

You know it’s going to be a good day when you happen upon a pop-up poisons and potions shop!

These Blythe dolls are Yellow Marshmallow in her stock outfit and Lovely Katherine’s Corner in my current favorite Halloween print dress and headband that I made. I got the Potions wagon at Target years ago, and the bottles came from Target more recently. This is for the theme “Pick Your Poison” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Dressing For The Season

It’s time to put together some cute Halloween-inspired outfits to wear in October. Lilac has made her choices, have you?

This Blythe doll is Simply Lilac, posing for the theme “Flat Lay” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. These outfits will be appearing on some of my dolls soon! The fun bags were made by Angie Coppi. I made the three dresses not on the doll.

Treats

For some people, Halloween is all about the costumes. For others, like Betty, it’s all about the treats!

This Blythe doll is Bow Wow Trad, posing for the theme “Treat” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The background is a fun jigsaw puzzle I recently finished.

Tricky

“When I take the little ones out on Halloween, I dress as a hippie and I always get lots of compliments on my costume. That’s the trick—it’s not a costume! I dress like this every day!”

This Neo Blythe doll is I Love You It’s True. The rabbit doll came from Etsy. The little witch is Sweet Spell Scarlet (Petite). The pink ghost and the Trick or Treat sign came from Michael’s. This picture is for the theme “Trick” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Wart Free

“I’ve been playing with this toad all day, and I haven’t even gotten one wart!”

This silly Blythe doll is Lovely Katherine’s Corner, posing for the theme “Wart” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. She’s still wearing the dress and headband I made, because I just love it on her! The toad is from Michael’s.

Appreciation

Quinn gives her cats their annual pep talk: “I speak for all witches when I say we appreciate you. It wouldn’t be Halloween without black cats!”

This Blythe doll is Quintessential Journey posing for the theme “Black Cat Appreciation” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The background is a piece of wall decor I found at the antique mall (not everything there is old…some things are just second-hand.)

Pink-O-Ween

Let the spooky fun begin! Happy Pink-O-Ween!

This Blythe doll is Lovely Katherine’s Corner, posing for the theme “Pink” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I made her dress and headband; when I saw this adorable pink ghost fabric back in July, I HAD to get it and get sewing! The background is scrapbooking paper, with a scattering of Halloween sprinkles on top.
