Let’s Go To The Car Wash

Welcome to The Fastidious Car Wash! We will get your car sparkling clean or double your money back!

These Middie Blythe dolls are Parson Grace, Nellie Nibbles, and Lena Elena for “Fastidious” (very attentive to and concerned about accuracy and detail) in Blythe a Day on Flickr. The VW is actually the box that a puzzle came in (the puzzle is a camping scene with a VW in it). The red car is a reproduction of an antique pedal car for children.

Must Love Dogs

Strawberry finds that even when she is just making a sandwich, she is never alone in the kitchen!

This Blythe doll is Heavenly Strawberry, wearing Henrietta Home Party’s stock outfit, for “Cynophile” (dog lover) in Blythe a Day on Flickr.

Dolls!

I didn’t realize that I was going to become a plangonologist when I bought my first Blythe thirteen years ago, but here I am, with over 100 Neo Blythes, a dozen Middies, and 15 and a half Petites (one of them has no legs, she’s the half). It’s funny how many other dolls have joined them; I have a lot of Sonny Angels and Mini Lalaloopsy’s, and quite a few other random dolls, as you can see in this picture.

This picture features my newest Blythe, Lavendula Babe, in the center, for “Plangonology” (doll collecting) in Blythe a Day on Flickr.

Out The Window

Q: Why did silly Sally throw her clock out of the window? (Answer below)

This Blythe doll is Miss Sally Rice, posing for “Defenestrate” (to throw out of a window) in Blythe a Day on Flickr. I didn’t have a doll-size window, so I spent some time drawing and coloring and cutting out this one.

A: Because she wanted to see time fly!

The Smell of Rain

Smell the rain. Splash in a puddle. Enjoy your life!

This Blythe doll is Simply Sparkly Spark wearing Nicky Lad’s raincoat, posing for “Petrichor” (the smell of rain) in Blythe a Day on Flickr. This is a chalkboard flat lay. I used liquid chalk markers for the rain.

Milk a Cow Part 2

After she learned to milk a cow, the farmer showed Bunny how to churn the milk into butter. He gave her a big stick of it to take home for a souvenir.

This Blythe doll is Blue Rabbit, wearing Simply Guava’s stock overalls. The butter is a sticker (thanks, Julie!)

Strawberry Beautiful

Have a beautiful day!

I could have used Heavenly Strawberry as the model for this picture, but that seemed too obvious, so I put her dress on Simply Guava instead. This picture is for “Strawberry “ in Blythe a Day on Flickr.

You Can Really Taste the Clams!

Why not treat yourself to a steaming hot bowl of clam chowder? You deserve it!

This Blythe doll is Cadence Majorette, wearing Country Summer’s stock dress and posing with a mini Lalaloopsy doll for “Clam Chowder” in Blythe a Day on Flickr.

Milk

In her ongoing quest to learn new skills, Bunny rode her bike to the nearby dairy farm to learn to milk a cow. You never know when such knowledge will come in handy.

This Blythe doll is Blue Rabbit, posing for “Milk a Cow” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. I was happy to see this theme because I get to show off my beautiful cow figurine!

How Many Cats?

How many cats is too many? Don’t ask Mary—she doesn’t know! Her cat family hasn’t reached that number yet, if it even exists.

This Blythe doll is Song of London Mary, wearing a dress from WoollyRockers. This picture is for “Cats” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. The staircase is a home decor item meant to display collectibles; I found it at the antique mall. The background is a jigsaw puzzle. These flat wooden cats were the gifts in an Advent calendar a few years ago.

Happiness

Happiness comes from within. It also comes from taking a walk with a duck.

This Blythe doll is Candy Carnival wearing her stock dress. The background is a jigsaw puzzle. For “Duck Day” in Blythe a Day on Flickr.

Flower Time

Fresh flowers make a good day better!

This Blythe doll is My Little Candy, wearing the lovely Winter Fog outfit we won in Julie and Astrid’s giveaway in January in Blythe World on Facebook. Thanks, Julie! Since Candy’s hair has faded to peach, the soft colors of this outfit suit her very well.

I’m Back!

Good news: I’ve recovered from pneumonia and today I am feeling GOOD! Thanks to everyone who sent me kind words, well wishes and prayers. I’ve never been so sick before, and finally being over it feels amazing!

This Blythe doll is Prima Dolly Marigold. The happy crocheted sunflowers came from BestJellyfishUS on Etsy; I thought they would look cute if I put Blythe dresses on them. The background is a jigsaw puzzle.

Valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day!

This Blythe doll is Unicorn Maiden wearing an outfit I made, for “Valentines” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. The background is a jigsaw puzzle.

Wednesday, February 12, 2025

Catch!

You’re a great catch, dear Valentine!

This Blythe doll is Odette Lake of Tears for “Sports” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. The balls and mitt are erasers.

I’ve been absent for a week because I fell into the deep dark pit of pain and coughing called pneumonia. It is disgusting. I hope to be functional again soon. I took this picture before I got sick, and I have one more that I took earlier that I will post on Friday.

LEGO Heart

I can’t help falling in love with you!

This Blythe doll is Simply Mango with a Sonny Angel and a Momiji doll, for “Heart” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. I like hearts and I like puzzles, so I bought this LEGO heart kit, and it was fun to put together!

Puppy Love

Love is in the air!

These Blythe dolls are Prima Dolly London and Mrs. Retro Mama for “Doggie Date” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. The background is a jigsaw puzzle.

Sunday, February 2, 2025

Groundhog Day

Happy Groundhog Day, everybody! (Because of an unanticipated lack of groundhogs in Blytheville, the groundhog will be played by Mondie’s pet Guinea pig.)

This Blythe doll is Mondrian, posing for “Groundhog Day” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. The Guinea pig is Norman from “The Secret Life of Pets”; he came as a toy in a McDonald’s Happy Meal a few years ago. The background is a jigsaw puzzle.

Saturday, February 1, 2025

Chocolate

Light chocolate or dark chocolate, it doesn’t matter—just give me chocolate!

This Blythe doll is Zoe and Her Pet Fish, for “Dark Chocolate” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. She is wearing Heavenly Strawberry’s stock dress. A few years ago I started saving the pretty heart-shaped candy boxes that my dear husband gives me for Valentine’s Day, instead of tossing them when the chocolates are gone, because they work well in dolly pictures.

Cat Art

Meanwhile, at The Museum of Cat Art, it’s “Wear a cat costume for free admission” day! Let’s go!

The Blythe dolls are both Sea Sailor See, wearing stock outfits from Meowsy Wowsy and Zoe and Her Pet Fish, for “Art” in Blythe a Day on Flicker. The background is a fun puzzle which I recently completed.

Escape

Everyone needs an escape now and then. Cadence is escaping to Paris.

This Blythe doll is Cadence Majorette, for “Escape” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. Her outfit and basket came from the goodie bag for Play and Party Paris this past summer. No, I didn’t attend…there were extra bags available for purchase after the event.

Pieces

Love is all you need.

This Blythe doll is Pretty Peony, wearing her stock dress, for “Puzzles” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. Was this theme chosen with me in mind?? I can only assume, yes! Someone knows that I love puzzles!

Lego

I will never “Lego” of your heart.

This Blythe doll is Daunting Drusilla, wearing an exquisite dress…but sadly, I can’t remember who made it. Today’s theme is “Lego” (obviously). At the beginning of the month, when I read through the list of themes, I didn’t have any Legos, so I ordered this fun puzzle (from Amazon), featuring Lego mini figures, for the background. The mini figures on it are so cute that I bought a blind box of six figures, one of which you can see on the heart in this picture. This was fun and different for me.

Special Delivery

Hooray, the Valentine’s decorations have arrived! And since they were well-packaged, they are in perfect condition!

This Blythe doll is Heavenly Strawberry, wearing a dress I made, for “Bubble Wrap” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. My daughter painted the background for me.

Howdy!

Howdy, partner! Happy Valentine’s Day!

This Blythe doll is My Little Candy, with a Littlest Pet Shop Blythe doll and a Momiji doll for “Partner” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. I’ve wanted to take a cowgirl themed picture with these two little dolls and a Blythe doll wearing this western outfit (from Darling Diva, hat from Urban Cowgirl) for quite a while! Finally it all came together!

No one is sweeter than Blythe!

This Blythe doll is Coquette Lumiere wearing Stella Serendipitous’s’ stock dress for “Pie” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. The background is scrapbooking paper. The pie was a splurge on Etsy ($21.50 from CraftyGirlsofAvon) but I’ve used it quite a bit; it’s a really great prop.

Nuts!

We’re all nuts about Blythe around here!

This Blythe doll is Sadie Sprinkle with a Steiff squirrel for “Squirrel Appreciation “ in Blythe a Day on Flickr. No, it’s not too early for Valentine’s posts! These big weird decor acorns came from a thrift shop…I found them a few hours after envisioning this picture, but I was going to have to make it with normal sized acorns. What a coincidence! What a find!

There are so many benefits to walking, for both mind and body. Get outside and walk today!

This Blythe doll is Dear Forest Deer; the little ones in the carriage are Littlest Pet Shop Blythe dolls. This picture is for “Take a Walk” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. The background is a poster. The carriage is a reproduction of an antique toy.

Time To Make the Doughnuts

“These new employees are great—they make the most tender doughnuts ever! I just wish they would remember to wear their hair nets, though.”

This Blythe doll is Donna Doughnut for “Tenderness” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. The background is a poster that came with a jigsaw puzzle. I didn’t realize it was AI until I opened the box; I will have to be more careful with my purchases in the future. I much prefer real art by real people, but this image is so cute I went ahead and used it for my picture, despite the weird flaws that always show up in AI images (such as the cats’ collars, and the squirrel which is half in and half out of a solid window…!)

“It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn’t use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like, ‘What about lunch?’” —Winnie the Pooh

This Blythe doll is Home Sweet Home, wearing Raspberry Sorbet’s stock outfit for “Organize” in Blythe a Day on Flickr.

Duck Duck Jeep

There was a surprise waiting for Elaine when she returned to her Jeep: she’d been ducked!

Have you heard of Jeep ducking? It’s just a fun thing that Jeep owners, (and admirers) do…they place a rubber duck on a random Jeep, sometimes anonymously, sometimes adding a tag with a message such as “you’ve been ducked by HappyJeeper123” or something along those lines. A year ago I started driving a Jeep Cherokee, and two months ago the duck in this picture was my first (and so far, only) ducking!

This Blythe doll is Lavendula Babe, posing for “Rubber Duck” in Blythe a Day on Flickr.

Puddle jumping is more fun with friends!

This Blythe doll is Simply Guava, wearing Playful Raindrops’ stock raincoat, and joined by a Wonder Frog and a Sonny Angel for “Step In a Puddle” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. The background is a jigsaw puzzle. I tried to make a big splash out of foil, but it doesn’t look as great as I imagined it would!

Sonata will only shop at The Unique Boutique, where each piece is one-of-a-kind!

This Blythe doll is Snowflake Sonata for “Unique” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. I recently came across the armoire on the right at the antique mall; I found the mirror there too. I love my antique mall!!

Word Nerd

A librocubicularist’s favorite words: snow day! (A librocubicularist is a person who reads in bed.)

This happy Blythe doll is Prima Dolly Cassis, posing for “Word Nerd” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. Thanks to Angie Coppi for the pretty bedding.

Chickens

Everybody likes something. Mondie like chickens.

This Blythe doll is Mondrian, for Snuggle a Chicken in Blythe a Day on Flickr. I got this Steiff chicken in Germany many years ago when my husband and I lived there for his Army posting. Usually the “button” that is the Steiff trademark is in the ear, but since chickens don’t have big ears, it’s on her wing.

Old Rock

As she carefully chipped away the old rock to expose the fossil, the paleontologist imagined what this area must have looked like millions of years ago when it was teeming with dinosaurs.

This Blythe doll is Blue Rabbit, posing for “Old Rock” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. I bought the fabulous background/wall hanging, and the toy dinosaurs a few years ago when there was a full month of dinosaur themes. I’m happy to have a reason to use them again!

Monday, January 6, 2025

“Some people call me a birdbrain. What a great compliment!”

This Blythe doll is Suri Sustainable posing for “Birds” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. The background is the poster that came with a jigsaw puzzle that I got for Christmas (I haven’t made the puzzle yet, but the poster was great for this picture). The painting she is working on was done by my daughter.

Trivial Pursuit

“It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game.” —Grantland Rice

This is a Littlest Pet Shop Blythe doll called Desert Fun playing Trivial Pursuit with her friends for “Trivia” in Blythe a Day on Flickr. This “World’s Smallest” Trivial Pursuit game is actually playable—if you can read the teeny tiny print on the cards! The manufacturer has thoughtfully included a small magnifier to help you with that!

Festival of Sleep

“Sleep is the golden chain that ties health and our bodies together.” – Thomas Dekker

This Blythe doll is Leading Lady Lucy wearing her stock nightgown for “Festival of Sleep” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The background is wrapping paper. I made the moon from cardboard and aluminum foil.

Open the Door

Open the door to new possibilities in 2025!

This Blythe doll is Cinnamoroll for the theme “Door” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The boy is Ken from the movie Barbie. This gorgeous door is from Byer’s Choice; it’s free-standing, so it wasn’t hard to set up different scenes on each side of it.
