Redecorate

“A great way to freshen up your space without the cost of redecorating is to scatter some new pillows around.”

This is Fani Flamingo, posing for the theme “redecorate “ in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The pretty pillows were made by Angie Coppi.

Laundry Day

“In every job that must be done
There is an element of fun
You find the fun and snap!
The  job’s a game.”   —Mary Poppins singing A Spoonful of Sugar

Sweet Bubbly Bear poses for the theme “Do the laundry” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. She hasn’t found the fun yet. This ironing board, iron, laundry basket and dryer are all part of a set of Gloria doll accessories I found on eBay. Also included in the set are a washing machine and a clothes rack with hangers. It’s really cute!

Photography

“Everything you can imagine is real.”  —Pablo Picasso

Tokyo Bright imagined herself as a famous photographer, so she made this business card, placed an ad in the newspaper, and now, business is booming! Picasso was right!

Bicycle Repair

She’s got the tools, she’s read the book, and she’s open for business! Come on down! You can trust all your bicycle repairs to Stella Savannah.

For the theme “bicycle repair” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I wanted small tools for this picture, and I knew I had seen them in the doll house miniatures section at Michael’s in the past. I stopped in to look for them and I was dismayed by how empty that section was…but there was ONE package of tools left! Score!

Flower Arranging

Sayori has always enjoyed Ikebana.

“Ikebana is not just about sticking a flower into a vase: it is about the love and need of the artist to create beautiful forms…Ikebana is not just about flowers, it is about the person who arranges them.” —Sofu Teshigahara, founder of Sogetsu School

Sea Sailor See’s stock outfit inspired me to go Japanese for the theme “Flower arranging” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Language Barrier

“Knowledge of languages is the doorway to wisdom.  —Roger Bacon

I got my first Sea Sailor See (“Saylor”) when she was released in 2019, and I’ve found her to be quite versatile and photogenic. I got the second one earlier this year in a Junie Moon Happy Bag. She remained in her box until now, because I liked the idea of using both of them in this picture for the theme “Learn a new language” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I’m calling the new girl Sayori. Their back story is that they are cousins who grew up in different countries (Saylor in the U.S., Sayori in Japan.) This picture is their first meeting.
