Chikins!

Joy has discovered that if she lies perfectly still, the wild wubba chikins' curiosity will overcome their timidity, and they will approach her. If everything goes according to plan, she will have a flock of pet chikins by the end of the month.

Just in case you don't know, wubba chikins are a "thing" in the Blythe doll community, and it was started by one woman, Juliet Waldon, who took pictures of her dolls with them, and mailed one free to anyone who asked. There is a whole Flickr group dedicated to Blythe and chikins, with Wednesday being proclaimed "Wubba Wednesday". Really! To take a look at this group, click HERE.

Basket of Chikins

Blythe a Day July 5, 2015
Box or Basket

Grace is in the habit of taking a leisurely stroll with a basket full of wubba chikins on a pleasant afternoon. There's nothing weird about that, is there?

Grace is my Petit Dejeuner Blythe doll. The wubba chikins are just a running joke in the Blythe community...there is a Flickr group dedicated to them HERE .

Wedding Cake Disaster Averted

Blythe a Day June 11, 2015
Put a Bird on It

Alice was making the cake for her best friend's wedding, when the little plastic bride and groom for the top went missing. Thinking quickly, Alice found a good substitute in her kitchen. Disaster averted!

Pull Rings and Wubba Chikins

For the past couple of months I've been sewing panties for Blythe, and embroidering them with fun/cute/pretty designs. So why did it take me so long to realize that two images that really scream "Blythe!" to collectors are pull rings and wubba chikins?? This week I stitched those designs onto some panties and I'm offering them in my Etsy shop as a "made to order" item, so they will never be out of stock. All the other designs I make will be listed as I make them--that gives me freedom to sew whatever I feel like sewing!
