Merry ponders the age-old question: "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?"

Merry is my Prima Dolly Marigold Blythe doll. I made this dress to go with the egg hairclip I got from MissDoolittles on Etsy. Merry seems to be the only doll who can pull off this look though; I tried this outfit on several other girls, but it just didn't look as good on them as it does on Merry--her hair is just the perfect color for it!

What's On Your Head?


Merry would like you to know that four hats are warmer than one--and animal hats are the warmest of all!

This is one of those photos that took on a life of it's own as I was trying to do something for today's theme, "What's On Your Head". I had the idea to do a tall stack of hats, but random hats weren't working well...then I noticed all the animal hats, and I also noticed my Sonny Angels with animal hats/heads/whatever, so this turned into a photo that is more about animals than about what is on her head!

Merry makes no secret of her caffeine addiction. She has decorated her house in a "coffee" theme, and she even has a living, breathing pet coffee bean from Brazil! Yes, pet coffee beans are quite rare and expensive; but for Merry, money is no object when pursuing her obsession.

Butterflies

Merry gets a happy feeling in her heart when she wears her butterfly dress.

This picture is not at all what I planned to do for the "butterfly" theme--I had a mental image of a doll chasing a butterfly with a net, which meant I would need to make a dolly-sized butterfly net...and I soon realized that I didn't have time to mess around with that, so I had to go with what I already had on hand. This is one of the more interesting discoveries I've made as I take a doll picture every day: things often turn out differently than I imagined they would, but they usually turn out okay!

My Secret Helpers

Merry is such a hard worker...and now my secret is out: I employ my dollies to help me make the embroidered panties for my Etsy store! I couldn't manage those tiny details without their help.
