I like to start a new month with new calendar cellphone wallpaper featuring: BLYTHE! June's model is Cream Cheese and Jam, wearing Mermaid Tasha's stock tail and bikini top. There was a lot of discussion when Mermaid Tasha came out regarding her hair color (blond); many (including myself) were of the opinion that a fantasy hair color would have suited a mermaid better. I solved the problem by putting the mermaid outfit on a different doll! The sunglasses are from Picnic Al Fresco. If you like this picture, feel free to use it on your phone.

It's Riddle Time

What's black and white and re(a)d all over? 

I just ADORE Cinema Princess! She always looks amazing. I knew she would be the perfect model to show off this dress and hairband I just finished for a friend. This friend (hi Susan!) gave me a big stack of Liberty of London fabric squares, and this black and white floral print was one of them. I actually was able to squeeze two dresses out of it (one for her, one for me!) but there wasn't enough to make matching bows, so I made them from another fabric in my large stash. 

Name that Flower

Even with the help of a guidebook, some wildflowers are easier to identify than others.

Picnic Al Fresco's friend is a Momiji doll named Thank You. I have a nice little collection of these dolls, in addition to Blythe. I like Sonny Angels and Lalaloopsies too!

Good Panda!

Just a girl and her panda, looking for adventure. 

So...Flickr is down for maintenance today. In addition to that message, the site now features a drawing of their "bad panda" (which sometimes shows up when there is a glitch), with the announcement of a good panda contest. Just print and cut out the panda, then take a picture of it on an adventure somewhere. This photo will be my entry, when the site is back up, in the Good Panda Photo Contest group. Ten winners will receive a free year of Flickr Pro. I'm paying for it now, so I would love to get a free year!

More Picnic Al Fresco

What a doll! Picnic Al Fresco is just beautiful--she really is an all-around perfect Blythe. I often hear people ask which Blythe would be a good first doll...this is the girl I will be recommending. Her hair is really nice, right out of the box (I haven't done anything but brush it, and it is beautiful), she comes with a lot of cute stock items. and her coloring is very pretty. What more could you ask for?

Dolly Meet-Up

Come on, everybody, grab your dolls and meet us at the big tree in the park. It's a beautiful day for a dolly meet-up!

These two are my very first Blythe doll (Bonnie, on the right, is Raspberry Sorbet) and my newest girl (Picnic Al Fresco, on the left.)

Way back in 2012, I chose Raspberry Sorbet for my first Blythe because I loved her long brown hair, which reminded me very much of my own hair during my teens and twenties. This year, I decided to purchase Picnic Al Fresco as soon as I saw her pictures, because she reminded me of Bonnie, my first Blythe love! She seems to be a "new and improved" version of Raspberry Sorbet. I like her stronger makeup colors, and the shape of her bangs is better. 

Holly is the name  I've decided on for Picnic Al Fresco, just because I like that name and surprisingly, I haven't used it yet for any of my other 60 or so dolls!

Hello, Picnic Al Fresco!

Picnic Al Fresco is the new girl I got this year for Mother's Day. I love both her cherry theme and her picnic theme. My favorite piece of her stock outfit is the denim jacket--that will go with a lot of different outfits. And aren't her cherry earrings super cute??

Her hair is beautiful, right out of the box. It's not a bit greasy, so it doesn't have to be washed, but I think I will give her a spa anyway, because the waves are a bit uneven, and I find that washing the hair usually smooths out little problems like that. 

I can't wait to send her on a lot of picnics...I'll be following her with my camera!

Mother's Day 2019

Happy Cinco de Mayo 2019

Veronica managed to land a spot in the mariachi band playing the maracas for the Cinco de Mayo celebration. She doesn't know much about music--or Mexico--but she couldn't miss the opportunity to wear that fantastic sombrero. 

I found the sombrero at Hobby Lobby. It's meant for 18" dolls, but I'm loving it on Blythe! I couldn't leave the store without it. This Blythe is Bow Wow Trad. The maracas came in a set of Barbie musical instruments that my friend Susan gave me. Thanks Susan! 

Beautiful Zara

Be your own kind of beautiful.

This is the lovely new Tsumori Spirit Blythe doll. I can't get enough of her periwinkle hair! The dress she is wearing (from ChantillyLaceCustoms on Etsy) has been in my doll room since last summer, but it hasn't looked great on any of my dolls--until now. On Zara, it is perfect!
