In Winter

Winter in the birch grove, at twilight.

This is Anna Sui, doing what she does best: looking gorgeous. The birch trees are a decoration I just got from Hallmark. This started out as a picture for the theme "The Snowman" but Anna has stolen the show!

The Strange Effect of Music

"When I hear music, I fear no danger. I am invulnerable. I see no foe. I am related to the earliest times, and to the latest."
                                                                  --Henry David Thoreau

This is Blythe Adores Anna Sui for the theme "Strange Music" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Difference of Opinion

Friends don't have to agree on everything.

My friend Angie Coppi sent us these dresses for my birthday...we love them!

These dolls are Blythe Adores Anna Sui on the left, and Playful Raindrops on the right.

Beauty

She Walks in Beauty, Like the Night

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies,
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meets in her aspect and her eyes

-Lord Byron

This is Anna Sui, my current favorite Blythe doll. I call her Zelda. Her hair! Her hair is a dark, dusky purple; it is so soft, and slightly wavy. It's perfectly beautiful. As is she.

Another Happy Birthday

I had such a nice birthday last Friday: my dear husband showered me with gifts, I received many warm wishes on Facebook, and I bought myself a doll! Yay! One of my favorite gifts from that day is this background my daughter Jenna drew for me to use in dolly photos. I told her I wanted something monochromatic, something like a sketch, something that looked like a storefront...and when I saw this Bakery background, my jaw dropped--it is EXACTLY what I wanted! She is such a talented artist (yes, she did go to art school), so to receive a hand-made gift from her is always exciting!

I like to make birthday-themed photos on a regular basis, so I will have something new to post on friends' timelines on Facebook when it is their special day. (If you want to "friend" me on Facebook, my name there is Leslie Ann Andersen, and I have Blythe dolls as my avatar.) I know just the person to be the first one to receive this picture on their timeline--I'm going to go post it now!

This is the purple-haired Anna Sui, whom I call Zelda.

Zelda

This is my gorgeous Blythe Adores Anna Sui doll. I named her Zelda, which is a name I've always liked; it seems slightly exotic to me, and it has the literary association of being the name of F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife, who was also a writer. When I mentioned the name to my adult daughter, I wasn't surprised that she immediately thought of the Nintendo game called The Legend of Zelda. I did a little Googling, and discovered that the creator of that video game actually named it after Zelda Fitzgerald! Isn't that an interesting fact?

Selfie Sunday

It's a beautiful day! Zelda grabbed her friends and headed to the park to enjoy the outdoors. Happy Selfie Sunday, everyone!

These Blythe dolls are, from left to right: Sadie Sprinkle (I call her Juliette), Blythe Adores Anna Sui (Zelda), and Allegra Champagne (Bridget).

Blythe Adores Anna Sui

I was fortunate to win the chance to purchase Blythe Adores Anna Sui in the lottery at Junie Moon. She arrived here a couple of weeks ago, but as she was to be my Valentine's Day gift, I had to put off opening her for a while. Wow, she was worth the wait!

It's not very obvious in this picture , but...SHE HAS PURPLE HAIR!!! A Blythe with dark purple hair has been one of my wishes for quite a while, and now my wish has come true. And she has a set of purple eyes to match!

Recently I've started taking a picture like this of each doll as I take her out of her box--this flat layout with everything that came in the box serves as a good introduction to a doll...and it also helps me to remember, in the future, which little things belong to her! (Not that it really matters, but sometimes I want to show off a doll in her stock, and I might not remember which tights were hers, for example.)

Everything about her is well done. I especially like her pull ring, which isn't a ring at all, but a sort of plastic charm that says "Ann Sui". Her hat is wonderfully big and soft and furry. Her tights fit well and weren't too hard to put on. Her boots are pretty, and they are "left" and "right" which is a nice detail (although I'm afraid there will be some people who get two left or two right boots! I haven't heard of anyone with this problem yet, but I know it happened a lot with Minty Magic.) Her outfit looks like a skirt and blouse, but it is really a one-piece dress, which is well-made and pretty. All this plus panties, earrings, bag and sunglasses, and she is ready to go!

When she's dressed from head to toe in her stock outfit, Anna Sui is downright sophisticated.

I had a request to show her side-by-side with Lady Camellia, from the back, in daylight, to compare hair colors. Here is that unedited photo, below (Lady Camellia on the left and Anna Sui on the right). It's a terrible photo in terms of composition, but it is good representation of their actual hair colors. You can see that Anna Sui has beautiful hair: it's long, wavy, and thick.

This doll gets an "A+" from me; there's nothing I dislike about her--I highly recommend her.

I Choose YOU!

Nothing says "I love you" like a tiny pokeball in a bottle.

I gave this bottle to my husband for Valentine's Day...
we're big Pokemon Go players. He thought it was cool.

Would you believe that this photo is for the theme "Boots"??

And can you believe that this is the first photo I've posted of my amazing new Blythe Adores Anna Sui doll??  I really wanted to use her for this theme, since I just took her out of her box and she has great boots! But I needed to show off this little bottle that was in the package I showed last week...so this is all you will see of her, just the side of her head, her hands, dress, and boots...
...until tomorrow!
