February 2019 Calendar Page
Tomorrow is the first day of February, so it's time to think about updating my cellphone wallpaper with a new calendar page. I went with the obvious theme--Valentine's Day--because I love hearts, and flowers, and pink. I won't mind seeing them even after Valentine's Day has come and gone. If you like this picture, feel free to use it on your cellphone. The second photo shows how it looks on my phone's lock screen.
This pretty blonde Blythe is Mermaid Tasha. She's wearing a dress by Endangered Sissy. The background is scrapbook paper.

Faith
A person who prays is never alone.
A dolly friend of mine, who loves her Catholic faith, asked me to make some cards and notebooks for her, using the picture, below, which first appeared in this blog several years ago. That picture was for the theme "Let it Be," based on the Beatles song. Since I'm Catholic too, I started thinking about other pictures I could make with a Catholic theme, and I came up with the one above. At first glance it is rather similar to the one below, but the new picture is brighter and has a more positive feel to it. It features a lovely statue of Mary which I received this past Christmas. (Just in case you are wondering--yes, she is actually standing there, not cut-and-pasted in; Mary is on a stand which is underneath the blue fabric that makes up the sky. I added polyester fiberfill around the base of the statue to make it look like she is floating on a cloud, and added some light effects around her in the Pic Monkey editing app.) That's Sadie Sprinkle wearing the Sunday's Very Best stock outfit, and holding my favorite rosary.
For this next photo, I gathered some of the religious objects I've collected over the years, and arranged them, along with Mandy Cotton Candy, for a Catholic flat lay photo. Looking at this makes me think that I need to make some doll dresses with religious motifs on the fabric!

Plant a Tree Today
"The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now."
--Chinese Proverb
Sarah Shades grew this tree from the pit of a cherry she enjoyed last summer. The time has come to transplant it to the garden and await the harvest.

The World's Cutest Sandwich
What do you do when your cheese sandwich is too cute to eat?
Don't worry, Simply Bubble Boom will NOT be eating this adorable sandwich from Violetpie on Etsy! She will open a can of soup instead. For the theme "cheese" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

It's Time to get Fluffy
Puchippu Chappu Pepa and Nellie Nibbles are here to FLUFF UP your day!
This picture is for the theme Fluffy in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. Nellie Nibbles (blonde hair) is wearing her stock outfit; Puchippu Chappu Pepa (could she have a worse name??) is wearing Melomelomew's stock outfit. I made the pom poms, and Angie Coppi made the pillows.

Planners Gonna...
If Plan A doesn't work, just remember, there are 25 more letters in the alphabet.
This is the lovely Patty Patch! This is her first picture out of her stock outfit--she is beautiful! The length and waviness of her hair is just right. This photo is for the theme "Letters" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Finding Inner Strength
"I am confident and unafraid" is a phrase I've started using recently when I feel unsure of myself or my situation. It's a way to remind myself that I am strong, resilient and resourceful; I can deal with whatever comes my way. It really helps.
I chose My Melody for this theme because her soft, delicate beauty represents how fragile a person can feel when afraid or lacking in confidence. We may feel weak, but we are strong inside; we just need a reminder.

Winter
Every January, I need a quote like this! Even though our winter has been relatively mild so far, I feel much better when the temperatures are above 60 degrees. With Borland's quote in mind, I will just keep playing with my Blythes until Spring makes her appearance.
This is Chloe, my Cream Cheese and Jam Blythe doll. Her hair is amazing! She is wearing a pretty sweater that was a Christmas gift from our friend Angie Coppi. It was made by Ulanna on Etsy.

Good Oblivion
And if tonight my soul may find her peace
in sleep, and sink in good oblivion,
and in the morning wake like a new-opened flower
then I have been dipped again in God, and new-created.
--from "Shadows" by D.H. Lawrence
I'm a big fan of sleep, and I never appreciate it more than on the nights I have trouble sleeping. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, I get up and read for a while. What do you do when you can't sleep?
This beauty is Blythe Adores Anna Sui, sleeping peacefully with her pretty winter-themed sleep mask, coverlet and pillow set made by my friend Angie Coppi (she is Goodnight Sweet Blythe on Facebook.)

With a Little Help from My Friend
When a get a new Blythe doll, I usually try to come up with a special embroidered panty design that goes with her theme. I made one with patches for Patty Patch, and as I was working on the picture for my Etsy listing, a little helper appeared on the scene...he is Tofu, my 6-month-old blue point Siamese kitten. Such a pretty boy!! (His sister was somewhere nearby, but she was being good--this time!--and not getting on the table.)
The picture came out fine even with Tofu "helping" me!
