Generosity

Prayer Flag #5: Generosity

Oh look! Candy Carnival brought not one or two, but three gifts for your birthday! Wasn't that generous of her?

This is another prayer flag that I received in a swap. My favorite part of it is the crocheted flower and leaves. I also love that the bird and branch are hand-stitched in place with big, bold stitches. I told my partner that I liked birds; I put them on a lot of things, including this doll dress.

Fortune Cookie #3

I thought this must be the silliest Fortune Cookie fortune ever--until I saw how cheerful Daphne and Waverly look, posing for this picture. Let's all wear shoes that make us happy today!

These Blythe dolls are both Candy Carnival, wearing Blythe Happy dresses. Fortune Cookie series #3.

January 2019 Calendar Page

It's a new year, and I am continuing my monthly calendar pages for cellphone wallpaper. The second photo shows how it looks on my phone. Feel free to use it if you like it. My Candy Carnival twins really think you should!

Cotton Candy Carnival

Walking home after the carnival, they both agreed that it was the best one they had ever attended.

I love Candy Carnival's blue hair so much, I bought her twice--once NRFB, and once used with no stock. Between the two of them they are showing off almost all of her stock items (I realized after I took the picture that this is the wrong basket--it should be round and white--and neither of them is wearing the white ankle socks. She also has some very nice undergarments.) The cotton candy was a swap gift, and I added the wubba chikens just for fun. I think it's funny that she comes with one stock outfit, but there are three things to wear on her head: the straw hat, the "carnival" headband, and a pair of green and white hair bows.

Fun, Cubed

They don't know that the Rubik's Cube was invented in the late 1970's by Erno Rubik, a professor from Budapest, Hungary, or that it became a worldwide craze in the 1980's. They just know that it's fun.

These are my Candy Carnival Blythe dolls, Daphne and Waverly. The teeny-tiny Rubik's Cubes, and the girls' outfits, were gifts in the goody bags at BlytheCon Brooklyn in September 2017. My husband came with me to that event, so I got two goody bags! This photo is for the theme "The '80's" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Double the Fun

Waverly and Daphne know how lucky they are to have each other, because everything is double the fun with a twin.

Hooray for the Red, White, and Blue

Happy Independence Day, America!

Daphne (Candy Carnival), Charlotte (Precocious Candy's Mushroom), and Waverly (also Candy Carnival) show their patriotic side. I think I need to get a white-haired girl for next year's photo!

Surprise!

They know each other too well.

Hospitality

Beryl's friends call her the "Queen of Hospitality", because she always has fruit punch and a freshly-baked cake on hand in case they stop by unexpectedly (which they do...because they love punch and cake!)

The blue-haired dolls are Daphne and Waverly, my Candy Carnival Blythes. Beryl, the green-haired girl, is Enchanted Petal.

Styling!

Daphne has a unique sense of style,
which makes her an interesting subject to photograph.

Daphne

This is my pretty Candy Carnival Blythe doll, Daphne, posing with my new favorite magazine, Daphne's Diary. I'm loving this magazine because it's full of interesting photos of interior spaces and lovely countryside which give me ideas for arranging objects in dolly photos. It also has a lot of little freebies...things like paper cut-outs that you can use in crafting, or that fold into an object, such as a tiny suitcase (Blythe-size! Yay!).

The magazine is printed in the United Kingdom, so it has a pleasantly "different" feel from all the American magazines that are carried in my local bookstore. It's also a little more expensive than the other magazines, but I really think it's worth it for the inspiration it gives me.

Here's the little suitcase. We also got a Middie-size stove out of a different issue. I'll show that off later.

DIY

Daphne wanted a new dress to compliment the color of her hair, but she couldn't find anything in any of the stores. So she looked through her fabric stash, pulled out a needle and thread, and got busy making it herself!

Poetry

Daphne would like to share her original poem with you. It's called "Blue".

Daphne is my Candy Carnival Blythe doll. Blue is a wonderful needle-felted creation by violetpi on Etsy. And yes, I do wish I had two! Maybe I need to do something about that...
