Just Working on Her Tan

It may not be the most comfortable beach for sunbathing, but it is certainly one of the most beautiful.

Miss Sally Rice is relaxing on a jigsaw puzzle I recently completed. I love the bright colors in this one.

Green #5: Mint Madness

There are more shades of mint green than one might imagine!

From left to right: Miss Sally Rice, Prima Dolly Melon, Simply Peppermint, Cream Cheese and Jam. Besides the differences in their hair color, the differences in their complexions are very apparent when they are side by side. Cream Cheese and Jam is SO pink!

Change is Good

If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.

These lovely Blythes are both Miss Sally Rice; I call one Sally and one Suzy. This picture is for the "Green" series I am working on in March. There are so many shades of green! I love this minty color.

How to Have a Happy Heart

Nothing makes a heart happier than playing with dolls. So...what are you waiting for?

These are my "heavenly" Miss Sally Rice twins, Sally and Susie. They are joined by a trio of Sonny Angels to bring you today's inspirational message. The embroidered hoop came from my partner in a craft swap I did a few years ago; she did her research and made this just for me because I love hearts!

Merry Christmas

Wishing you all a peaceful and blessed Christmas.

They are my twin Miss Sally Rice Blythe dolls. I call them Sally and Susie.

Green Hair

I've already done line-ups of my blue-haired and pink-haired girls; today it's the green-haired girls' time to shine! Again, I've put each doll's abbreviation at the bottom of the picture, using the abbreviations from the "My Doll Collection for Blythe" app. Here are their full stock names, from left to right:

Prima Dolly Melon
Simply Peppermint
Miss Sally Rice (twice!)
Enchanted Petal
Prima Dolly Amaryllis

While dressing them and brushing their hair, I came to the realization that my least-favorite hairstyle is short hair that has a center part (sorry, Hope!) The center-part hair always has to be held back with a clip or two to keep it out of the doll's face, and that's harder to do--in a way that looks cute--with short hair.

What's in That Box??

An anonymous package arrived for Susie,
just one day after the fortune in her cookie read:
"A romantic mystery will soon add interest to your life."
Could it be from a secret admirer?

Yes, this is SUSIE, not Sally. Sally was in yesterday's photo. Both are Miss Sally Rice Blythe dolls.

Let me tell you about this cute package: it contains a tiny gift for my husband for Valentine's Day. It just arrived today, so I wanted to take a dolly picture with it before giving it to him. What's in it? A tiny bottle with a Pokeball inside, from EyMyMessage on Etsy (click on the name to go to the shop).

Our favorite activity together is playing Pokemon Go, so when I saw this...and saw that I could get it wrapped in a perfectly doll-sized box...there was no question in my mind that I had to get it for him (yes, I plan to keep the box for my dolls!!!)

This picture is for the theme "jeans" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Stock Outfit

"I'm going to the store. Need anything?"

I love Miss Sally Rice and her stock outfit...but those shoes are weird! That's okay with me, though; I've come to appreciate all the strange quirky things that appear in the different stock outfits.

Beautiful and Blue

The sun is up, the sky is blue
It's beautiful, and so are you.

--from the song "Dear Prudence" by The Beatles

When I first started collecting Blythe in 2012, I didn't get the appeal of Miss Sally Rice (on the left). To me, she looked a little strange and different from most Blythes, with her translucent face and bigger lips. Then suddenly, I loved her and had to have her! I don't know exactly why, but it may be that the very fact that she is different made her special to me. That, and her awesome blue-green hair.

Fast forward to 2016, and the moment I saw the announcement for UFO A Go Go, I knew I had to have her--there was no question about it! Her gorgeous aqua blue hair and pale face with salmon lips and blush make her so appealing to me.

They both have great stock outfits, as you can see here. Aren't they beautiful together?

Everyone's Favorite Chair

We have a saying around here:
"If you want the best seat in the house,
move the cat!"

This is my Miss Sally Rice Blythe doll.

This is the first of what I hope will be a series of pictures using this chair (which is actually a pincushion, but is perfect for my dolls) as the centerpiece.

Books

The love of learning, the sequestered nooks,
and all the sweet serenity of books.

Temptation

Temptation

For future reference, Sally: it is easier to avoid temptation, than to resist it.

Say "Cheese"!

Blythe a Day May 29, 2015
Cheese!

Sally is a budding photographer. She never wants to miss a great shot, so she carries her camera everywhere she goes.

This is Sally, my Miss Sally Rice Blythe doll. The camera was part of an inexpensive accessory pack for Our Generation dolls, which I found at Target.

Beautiful

Blythe a Day April 23, 2015
Something Beautiful

Here's something beautiful: my "grail" girls sitting on a handmade quilt!

That's Veronica Lace in the center; I love her long brown hair with purple threaded through it. She was the first doll I longed for but resisted buying because of her price. When I found her in gently used condition at a much better price, I snatched her up!

The other two are Miss Sally Rice. I loved her so much I bought her twice!

Oh--and I made the quilt!

Fall

Blythe-a-Day, March 20, 2015 Spring or Fall

Sally was never more embarassed than the time she slipped on a banana peel and it caused her to FALL right in the middle of the street!

Miss Sally Rice...how I love you...
