Tiny Tootsies

Kick off your shoes and enjoy the weather with us!

Starting at the top right and going clockwise, these Blythe dolls are My Little Candy, Tsumori Spirit, Coco Collette, Simply Lilac, Cadence Majorette, and Cream Cheese and Jam. This picture is for the theme "Barefoot" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. (There's no hidden object, again--ugh. I just can't remember to include it.)

Public Service Announcement

Prevent a fall! Put your trash in the proper receptacle.

These lovely Blythe dolls are Tsumori Spirit (left) and My Little Candy (right). I'm glad to have a chance to use my polymer clay banana peel again! I made it a few years ago for another "slip and fall" photo. This picture is for the theme "Upsy Daisy" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Valentine's Day 2020 #2

This Blythe doll is My Little Candy. The amazing typewriter is made for My Generation dolls at Target. There are so many cool props for those dolls! The scale is a bit large for Blythe, but I think they look great in pictures anyway.

Trees Galore

Is it possible to have too many Christmas trees? Candy intends to find out.

Faded Glory

This is My Little Candy. Her hair color has faded from the bright candy pink it was when I got her for Christmas in 2011, but she is still glorious! I have decided to embrace the fade. Instead of the bright colors I like to use in my photographs, she needs to be surrounded by muted tones.

My Little Candy

Is this what Heaven will be like for a candy lover?

This is My Little Candy--the obvious choice for this picture, for the theme "Heaven."  I wanted her to wear her stock outfit, but I couldn't find her skirt...and then I didn't want to take off her stockings (they are so hard to put back on!) So she is wearing her stock from the waist up. Oh wait! Those are her stock shoes.

I happen to be a BIG candy lover, so there is always candy on hand, which made this an easy photo to put together. My Little Candy was one of my first Blythes, and I was attracted to her because of her pink hair and her candy theme. I made a point of buying the other girls with "candy" in their names: Candy Carnival (I have two of them!), and Precocious Candy's Mushroom. Sadie Sprinkle (whom I also have) is closely related to them; I would call her theme "sweets."

O Christmas Tree

Candy takes it upon herself to add a much-needed touch of pink to the Christmas tree.

Happiness Is...

Happiness is a soft kitty and a big pile of unread books.

This is My Little Candy (she just goes by "Candy" around here). She is harder to photograph than most of my girls, because her hair is such a pale pink that the color usually looks washed out. I thought I would try surrounding her with pink things for this photo, and it seems to work. I like this one better than most of her pictures.

Pink Hair

I recently posted a picture of my blue-haired Blythes; today I am pleased to present my pink-haired girls. I've added their stock name abbreviation under each one, and just for clarity, I will write them out below. The abbreviations I used came from the app called "My Dolly Collection for Blythe"--I've noticed that different people sometimes use different abbreviations, which can be confusing. This app is the first thing I've found that conveniently lists every Neo Blythe (even the very newest, not yet released dolls!) in an easy-to-navigate app for my phone and iPad. It is a work in progress; future updates will allow you catalog your personal collection (I can't wait!)

I've left out my peach-haired girls from this line-up...the difference between peach and pink can be quite subtle, so I understand that some people might classify them differently. I was going to include Dainty Biscuit, and I actually took a picture with her in the group, but she just didn't look right and I had to take her out--even though her hair is officially "pink". Another confusing moment came when I realized that Prima Dolly Peach has pink hair! That's her, second from the right.

Here are their stock names, from left to right:

My Melody X Blythe--Softly Cuddle You and Me
Snowflake Sonata
Ichigo Heaven
Prima Dolly London
Prima Dolly Peony
Charlotte de Fleurs
Sprite (sometimes spelled Spright) Beauty
Prima Dolly Peach
My Little Candy

A Hat for Every Head

Sometimes the girl wears the hat,
sometimes the hat wears the girl.

When I first got into Blythe, I noticed that there was a huge variety of hats, hairbands, and fascinators available for her, which made perfect sense to me: since her head is her most prominent feature, why not play it up? I started buying and making a lot of hats, with the idea that I wanted something fun and different to go on the head of each of my girls. But as I got more into taking photos of them, I realized that the hat often gets in the way of the little story I want to tell with the picture--a big hat can be a distraction.  Now, I only use a hat in a picture when it helps tell the story; or, as in the case of this photo, when the hats ARE the story!

That's My Little Candy on the left, and Petit Dejeuner on the right.

Skyline Memories

Whenever we see this Dunkin Donuts mug with the New York skyline, Candy and I reminisce about the fun time we had together at Blythe Con New York in 2013. It was the first Blythe Con for both of us, and this mug was a souvenir from that trip.

This year, Blythe Con will be held in Brooklyn in October, and I have tickets! The theme dolls are "tanned girls". I haven't broken that news to Candy yet.

Christmas Giving

but how much love we put into giving."

Pretty Patterns

Pretty Pattern

Candy is an experienced seamstress, and she has a large collection of beautiful fabrics.  She says that choosing which pretty pattern to use is the hardest part of sewing!

Candy is my My Little Candy Blythe doll. (Yes, sometimes they keep the name they came with!)

We ALL Adore Playing with Blythe

Blythe a Day April 7 Something You and Your Blythe Adore

It's unanimous--we all adore playing with our Blythe dolls!

These Blythe dolls are Penny (Cloud 9 Bowl) and Candy (My Little Candy). I made the small Blythes that they are holding. The Blythe-in-a-box is from Dr. Blythenstein on Flickr (the link is HERE )

Now THAT'S an Easter Egg!

Blythe a Day April 5, 2015 Egg

Heather and Candy teamed up to find the BIGGEST egg at the Blytheville Easter Egg Hunt! Now comes the hard part: carrying it home!

These Blythe dolls are Prima Dolly Violet (Heather) and My Little Candy (Candy). I received this huge, beautiful egg from my husband on Easter a few years ago; it was full of Godiva chocolates!
