Whose Hair is the Fairest?

It's time for a comparison shot: Cadence Majorette and her new friend, Tokyo Bright. Inquiring minds wanted to know whose hair is the lightest? As you can see, it's Tokyo Bright. Don't they both look amazing in their gowns and crowns? Cadence is wearing Rendezvous Chou Chou's stock gown and Tokyo is wearing her own stock gown.

Tokyo Bright

I love getting a new doll! This is Tokyo Bright; I just opened her after admiring her in her box for a few weeks. She's a nice distraction from reality.

Spooky

No one tells better spooky stories around the fire than Stella. She recites Poe's "The Raven" from memory at the annual neighborhood bonfire.

If Looks Could Kill

"If people find out that looks really CAN kill, they might stop buying my poisons--and those are the real money makers. I'd better trash this Kill With a Look" potion!"

This Blythe doll is Daunting Drusilla, wearing her stock outfit. The theme is "If looks could kill" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Tiny Creatures

"Tiny, unusual creatures are easy to find," explained Cassis. "You just have to look for tiny, unusual holes."

Feels Like Fall

Hello--I'm back! I'm so excited to be taking doll pictures again! For the past month I've been very busy, worried and preoccupied with making appropriate living arrangements for my elderly mother, who can no longer live alone. I finally feel that she is settled and content, so I can relax and be happy again...and that means playing with Blythe.

I'm very pleased with this picture of Sarah Shades. I didn't intend for it to have such a strong Halloween feeling to it, but I like it!

Just Working on Her Tan

It may not be the most comfortable beach for sunbathing, but it is certainly one of the most beautiful.

Miss Sally Rice is relaxing on a jigsaw puzzle I recently completed. I love the bright colors in this one.

Whose Birthday Is It?

Every day is SOMEONE's birthday; so, Happy Birthday To You, whoever you are!

Simply Bubble Boom is standing on the cake shop puzzle I recently completed. There was a piece missing in lower right corner; I was sure it had been taken by Mochi, one of my Siamese cats, but I looked and looked and couldn't find it, so I took this picture and put the puzzle away. A few days later I noticed Mochi chewing on something--it was the missing piece! She had hidden it in her kitty house. Bad kitty!

Dig In

"I think I'm going to need a bigger spoon!"

This is Playful Raindrops posing on a fun ice cream themed jigsaw puzzle I just completed. We just happened to have the perfect "sprinkles" dress in our wardrobe.

Coming Home

"It's a funny thing, coming home. Nothing changes. Everything looks the same, feels the same, even smells the same. You realize what's changed is you."  --F. Scott Fitzgerald

This Blythe doll is Sweet Bubbly Bear posing on a jigsaw puzzle called Bubble Street. It was a difficult puzzle but one of my favorites because the artwork is so amazing.

So Many Books, So Little Time

"A writer only begins a book. A reader finishes it."  --Samuel Johnson

Isn't this book shop the greatest? Stella Serendipitous may have trouble carrying all her purchases home. This picture combines some of my favorite things: Blythe dolls, books, jigsaw puzzles and cats (there's one right behind her.) The outfit is by Woollyrockers.

Fish Tale

In her new YouTube video, Saylor shows you how she caught this fish using just a tree branch, some dental floss, and a safety pin.

This Blythe doll is Sea Sailor Sea, posing on the jigsaw puzzle I just completed. I've really gotten into puzzles lately! This one was harder than I expected it to be--there were so many similar fishing lures, and a lot of similar colors. Her fish is a toy I borrowed from my cats.

Be My Guest

"Welcome to my home. You're just in time for tea."

This is Mermaid Tasha posing on a jigsaw puzzle I just finished. Too bad this isn't how our home really looks! I've always enjoyed puzzles and I've done several of them recently.

Summer's Favorite Treat

You're invited to Sarah's ice cream party. Please RSVP, ASAP!

This Blythe doll is Sarah Shades. The background is a poster that was included with a jigsaw puzzle I just finished (surprisingly, it's a puzzle-sized picture of the finished puzzle! Usually, only a small picture is included.) The ice creams are from lots of different places--Mini Brands, Our Generation Girls, Shopkins, and eraser packs from Japan.

Here's the finished jigsaw puzzle, "Chickens in the Kitchen." I ordered it from an ad that I saw on Facebook. I think it came to me from China (it took several months to arrive) and it was frustrating to work on because the pieces are thin and they don't hold together very well, so my cats were frequently messing up areas that were already finished. I love the picture though, and the strong colors of the puzzle were fun to work with. Sorry my photo below has so much glare. There are skylights above the table.

Fresh!

"Fresh fruit is nature's candy!" --Simply Bubble Boom

Peace

"Lose yourself in nature and find peace."

Joy

Prayer Flag #6: Joy

Here's another prayer flag that I received in a craft swap. I like the simplicity of the shapes and the strong contrast between the background and the foreground elements of the flowers and letters. This Blythe doll is Picnic al Fresco. I love her in her stock outfit so much that she has rarely been out of it since I got her. The cherry earrings are too cute to take off.

Generosity

Prayer Flag #5: Generosity

Oh look! Candy Carnival brought not one or two, but three gifts for your birthday! Wasn't that generous of her?

This is another prayer flag that I received in a swap. My favorite part of it is the crocheted flower and leaves. I also love that the bird and branch are hand-stitched in place with big, bold stitches. I told my partner that I liked birds; I put them on a lot of things, including this doll dress.
