Joy
Prayer Flag #6: Joy
Here's another prayer flag that I received in a craft swap. I like the simplicity of the shapes and the strong contrast between the background and the foreground elements of the flowers and letters. This Blythe doll is Picnic al Fresco. I love her in her stock outfit so much that she has rarely been out of it since I got her. The cherry earrings are too cute to take off.

Generosity
Prayer Flag #5: Generosity
Oh look! Candy Carnival brought not one or two, but three gifts for your birthday! Wasn't that generous of her?
This is another prayer flag that I received in a swap. My favorite part of it is the crocheted flower and leaves. I also love that the bird and branch are hand-stitched in place with big, bold stitches. I told my partner that I liked birds; I put them on a lot of things, including this doll dress.

I Heart Hearts
Prayer Flag #4: Love
I love hearts so much that one year I made a heart every day, and blogged about it. Clearly, my swap partner knew this when she made me this prayer flag for our craft swap. She also knew that I love purple, green and blue! This Blythe doll is Simply Lilac.

Be Happy
Prayer Flag #3: Be Happy
When I participated in a prayer flag craft swap a few years ago, we each gave our partners ideas for themes and colors that we would like--that's why there is a lot of turquoise in the flags I received! This one has so many interesting elements. It is made of several layers, with sheer netting on top. The bird was (computer?) printed onto another layer of netting. There is a combination of machine and hand stitching throughout, and all the threads were left long and dangling. This happy doll is Playful Raindrops.

Love
Prayer flag #2: Love
This is another prayer flag that I received in a craft swap a few years ago. For those who haven't heard of these before, this article is quite good: https://www.clothpaperscissors.com/blog/how-to-make-prayer-flags/
In the center of this flag is a heart made of many, many French knots. You might have to look closely to see the theme, LOVE, spelled out in the tiles at the top of the flag. This Blythe doll is Enchanted Petal.

Grow
How does your garden grow?
A few years ago I participated in a craft swap of handmade prayer flags, so now I have a nice little pile of them. I've never used them as they are intended to be used--hanging them up outside until they disintegrate--because I like them too much for that! So I thought I would show them off with my dolls. This first one, "Grow," is one of my favorite themes, and it has my favorite colors too. The Blythe doll is Ichigo Heaven, and I'm pretty sure her turnip friend is by Violetpi on Etsy (I got it second-hand.)

Smell the Roses
Today I resolve to smell the roses, pet the kitties, enjoy the coffee, get lost in a book, and play with dolls.
Unicorn Maiden, how I love your pink eye chips!

Fireworks In the Night Garden
"Against a dark sky all flowers look like fireworks."
--G.K. Chesterton
Just to be different, we are celebrating the 4th of July with flowers instead of fireworks this year! This stunning Blythe doll is Asha Alvira wearing a new-to-us dress by Endangered Sissy.
