What's Normal?

This lovely Blythe doll is Mermaid Tasha. She's wearing the new Rosie Gelutie outfit and starfish earrings we got from our friend Angie for Christmas. Thank you Angie! The outfit has little black cats in the print, which is one of the reasons Angie chose this for me, since I am a crazy for cats.

When I was setting up this photo, I was once again impressed by how fabulous Tasha's hair is. Sooo soft and beautiful; easy to brush, tangle-free and grease-free. I can't recommend her enough!

Interview with a Cat Lover

 "A true ailurophile is born, not made," says Ellie Blythe, in her interview for next month's Cat Fancy magazine. "A love of cats comes from the heart, and the accompanying lifestyle is born of the necessity to express ones' innermost being." Blythe doll collecting is educational! I had never heard the word "ailurophile" until the announcement of the upcoming Blythe doll, Ailurophile Style. I am so pleased to learn that there is a word for my love of cats.

This Blythe doll is Ichigo Heaven, posing for the theme "Lover Doll" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I made her dress and the felt cat she is holding, and I drew the pictures on the wall. The white cat and brown cat came out of "Amy's Favorite Cat" blind boxes. The pink and white cat came from a toy store; I don't know what brand it is. 

No Fishing

Pearl is at her wits' end trying to keep the cats away from the aquarium. Not surprisingly, the sign she made didn't help at all.

Last week I posted a picture with this aquarium, just after adding water to it. Over the course of several days, the fish expand; here they are at their maximum size. I liked them better small! 

This is how my house would be if we had an aquarium, because we now have five curious cats!

The Cat Collector

Ruth never intended to have a cat collection...it just happened.

This is Pretty Peony, wearing a dress I made. My daughter painted the two funny individual cat portraits for me when I asked for pieces that were small and brightly colored. The amazing cat banner came to me in a craft swap when I was active on Craftster.org a few years ago. My swap partner is an artist, obviously...she asked for pictures of my four cats, and she painted a cartoon portrait of each one. Bright Colors


It doesn't bother Tillie when her sisters warn her that she's going to turn into a crazy cat lady--she considers that a compliment!

Today's theme is Bright Colors, and since almost all of my pictures have bright colors, I considered this a "free" day! I've been wanting to feature the incredible cat artwork you see on the wall behind Tillie; that was a swap gift from a friend on Craftster. She asked for pictures of all my kitties, and this little banner (which fits into a matchbox) is what she made. Her name is Kira Nichols, and you can find her blog HERE.
