Style Report

"One is never over- or underdressed with a little black dress."
                                                          --Karl Lagerfeld

The Flower of Sweetest Smell

She loves to gaze upon a crystal river--
Diaphanous because it travels slowly;
Soft is the music that would charm for ever;
The flower of sweetest smell is shy and lowly.

              --from "Not Love, Not War, Nor the Tumultuous Swell" by William Wordsworth (1823)

I recently saw someone dress their Stella Serendipitous doll in pale pink, and she looked lovely--and completely different than she does in her stock dress that is bright red and black. Now that I know she looks so good in soft pastel colors, I expect to photograph her a lot more, because I couldn't think of what to put on her before; she's been wearing a silvery-grey dress for ages!  Here, she is wearing the stock dress from Jane LeFroy. I bought it in a Facebook group several months ago because I think it is beautiful, but I haven't been inspired to dress any of my dolls in it, until now. Isn't it perfect on her?

Pretty Peony

I was pleasantly surprised when Pretty Peony arrived at my house on February 13th, a week or so before I thought she was due to be released! Isn't her box pretty? I love the colors.

I'm totally in love with this girl, from head to toe! Her hair is fabulous--the deep blue color is great, and it needed just a quick shampoo to be smooth and silky. Her stock outfit is one of my all-time favorites, especially the dress. It has slits up the side that expose an aqua-colored underskirt (which, sadly, didn't show in this picture!) The turquoise edging at the hem, neckline, and arm holes is a really nice detail.

A word of warning about the jacket: the black color will stain her arms in a very short time, so if you have her, DO NOT leave the jacket on her for any more than the time it takes to photograph her, unless you first wrap her arms in plastic. Overnight, this girl developed dark marks on the backs of her arms. In my experience, these stains will fade and even disappear completely over time, so I'm not going to worry about it--but I know this would really bother a lot of collectors.

Now to think of a name...

Love is All Around You

Happy Valentine's Day to YOU!

I chose Prima Dolly London for this picture because her hair is the perfect color for today's Valentine theme. She's sitting on the lid of a Godiva chocolate box, which my dear husband gave me when we celebrated Valentine's Day on Monday...because today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, and a day of fasting for Catholics, so eating chocolate and going out to a big dinner wouldn't work for us today! The card with the panda bear came in the mail from one of my Facebook dolly friends; what a nice surprise that was.

Making the Best of It

If you are forced to be stationary, you might as well try to enjoy it.

Don't worry--Raspberry Sorbet is expected to make a full recovery. This picture is for the theme "stationary" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Friendly Bears

There's always room for one more friend.

Fun, Cubed

They don't know that the Rubik's Cube was invented in the late 1970's by Erno Rubik, a professor from Budapest, Hungary, or that it became a worldwide craze in the 1980's. They just know that it's fun.

These are my Candy Carnival Blythe dolls, Daphne and Waverly. The teeny-tiny Rubik's Cubes, and the girls' outfits, were gifts in the goody bags at BlytheCon Brooklyn in September 2017. My husband came with me to that event, so I got two goody bags! This photo is for the theme "The '80's" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

This doll is Simply Bubble Boom, posing for the theme "POP!" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

I've been out of town, so this is the first picture I've made in two weeks! Did you miss me? I missed you! I'm glad to be back.
