Float

My soul is full of longing for the secret of the sea, and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me.       --Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Popsicles

Is it summer for you yet?

These Blythe dolls are Prima Dolly Marigold and Prima Dolly Peony. After doing yoga, they always enjoy a frozen treat! The swimsuit on the left came from RorruHandmade on Etsy; the one on the right is the stock outfit for Saffy. The popsicles are an image I printed from the internet and cut out--they look fairly realistic, don't they? I wanted this picture to have the feel of an advertisement...so why didn't I capitalize the "p"?

Yoga

It's a beautiful day for some beach yoga. Come out and join us!

These limber Blythe dolls are Prima Dolly Marigold (left) and Prima Dolly Peony (right.) They invented this yoga pose all by themselves! All parts of the background are made of fabric, except the construction paper sun which I was happy to be able to re-use after making it for a picture last week, in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

World Wide Web

Why waste time walking the aisles of a department store when, with just a few clicks of a mouse, your shopping could be done? Tess always goes straight to the world wide web when she needs something.

Pizza Problem

"I ordered a large."
"I think that's a small."
"I'll go make a salad."

I love the little dollhouse props I sometimes find in craft stores, but they are often too small--1:12 scale, instead of 1:6 which works best for Blythe. But there are ways the smaller things can be used, as in this picture. I've also discovered that changing the camera angle can make something look bigger or smaller in relation to a doll, so it's possible to make a small prop look bigger (or a big prop smaller.)

It's Called Love

This is Prima Dolly Peony, again, still wearing her prize sweater and enjoying the bike raffle prize from BlytheCon Brooklyn. This picture is for the theme "Dogs" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Coming across this quote brings back happy memories for me...from a very early age, my son adored Winnie the Pooh. We had a large collection of Pooh cartoon VCR tapes that he watched frequently, and as a result, I, and his little sister watched them too. They were full of sweet sentiments like this.

Thank You!

I made this picture to say thank you to Suzanne Kamal on Facebook, who knitted this cute hooded sweater and donated it to BlytheCon Brooklyn. It was the prize I won with the scratch-off card in my goody bag.

Baking Success

Baking can be a lot of work, but it's totally worth the effort when the results are this awesome.

This is Prima Dolly Peony. The cake and baking items are part of a set for Lori dolls that are sold at Target.

Pink Hair

I recently posted a picture of my blue-haired Blythes; today I am pleased to present my pink-haired girls. I've added their stock name abbreviation under each one, and just for clarity, I will write them out below. The abbreviations I used came from the app called "My Dolly Collection for Blythe"--I've noticed that different people sometimes use different abbreviations, which can be confusing. This app is the first thing I've found that conveniently lists every Neo Blythe (even the very newest, not yet released dolls!) in an easy-to-navigate app for my phone and iPad. It is a work in progress; future updates will allow you catalog your personal collection (I can't wait!)

I've left out my peach-haired girls from this line-up...the difference between peach and pink can be quite subtle, so I understand that some people might classify them differently. I was going to include Dainty Biscuit, and I actually took a picture with her in the group, but she just didn't look right and I had to take her out--even though her hair is officially "pink". Another confusing moment came when I realized that Prima Dolly Peach has pink hair! That's her, second from the right.

Here are their stock names, from left to right:

My Melody X Blythe--Softly Cuddle You and Me
Snowflake Sonata
Ichigo Heaven
Prima Dolly London
Prima Dolly Peony
Charlotte de Fleurs
Sprite (sometimes spelled Spright) Beauty
Prima Dolly Peach
My Little Candy

Tessa Dreams

Tessa dreams of polka dots
and dollies in her hair;
she's so sad when she awakes
and finds they aren't there.

This is Prima Dolly Peony, surrounded by part of my collection of Lala Loopsy minis. This photo is for the theme "Dots".

Read Everywhere

One of the best things about reading is that
you can do it almost any time, any place.
For example, you can read in the downstairs hallway
while waiting for your slowpoke sisters
to get ready to go in the morning. Like Tess.

Feather Collection

Blythe a Day on Flickr, 3/4/16
Feather

Tess, a budding ornithologist, adds another wild bird feather to her collection. Every time she goes outside for a walk, she finds something the birds have left for her: a feather, an eggshell, and sometimes even a nest!

Tess is my Prima Dolly Peony Blythe doll.

An ornithologist is a type of zoologist who focuses on birds. If you want to know anything about our fine feathered friends, consult an ornithologist.
Having a birdbath in your backyard doesn't make you an ornithologist. An ornithologist is someone who studies ornithology — the branch of science devoted to birds. Ornithologists study every aspect of birds, including bird songs, flight patterns, physical appearance, and migration patterns. Birds are genetically related to dinosaurs, which is something else an ornithologist might study.

Gift Exchange

They know they shouldn't be materialistic; nevertheless, all the girls agree that the annual gift exchange is their favorite part of the Christmas season!

Sign

Blythe a Day July 17, 2015
Show Me a Sign

We never forget where we live, with this sign on display in our family room! I appreciate things that have an "old" look to them, like this sign, but I LOVE things that are bright and shiny, like Blythe!

Who are they? From left to right: Prima Dolly Violet, Prima Dolly Amaryllis, Prima Dolly Peony, Mandy Cotton Candy, Snowflake Sonata, and Ice Rune.
