Warning: Nudity Ahead!

Hello Blythe lovers! I had one more idea for the Blythe Museum Challenge (#blythemuseumchallenge) on Facebook, so I rounded up some Blythe dolls and made an effort to re-create Henri Matisse's work, "Dance 1". Yes, they're naked, but it's art, so it's okay. 

These five Blythe dolls are, from left to right: Sea Sailor See, Lady Camellia, Pretty Peony, Daunting Drusilla, and Milky Way Sugar. The background is fabric. They made good use of their pull rings to facilitate the hand-holding necessary for this picture. I hope you get a laugh out of this--I did!

Plenty of Room

This Blythe doll is Milky Way Sugar, wearing a Blythe Happy dress that just happened to fit this theme perfectly. I was happy to have a chance to use these giant mushrooms again; they are made to be a yard ornament, but I love how magical they look in a doll photo. This picture is #18 in my Valentine's Day 2020: Kitschy Valentines series.

Party Potion

At the last minute, Drusilla remembered that the Halloween party invitation said "Bring your own potion." Luckily for her, the gypsy caravan was still in the vacant lot, so she was able to buy a pretty pink potion and still make it to the party on time.

Creepy

While shopping for Halloween, Eve came across a haunted graveyard decoration. "This one really gives me the creeps! I'll take it!"

Monstera Leaf

I enjoy watching design trends come and go. A new one I've noticed in the past year or so is the proliferation of Monstera leaves...they are everywhere! They are so bold and graphic that they are easy to love. I found a cool picture on the Gudrun Sjödén English page on Facebook featuring a beautiful model and a Monstera leaf, and I immediately imagined how it would look with a Blythe doll instead of a person. Here's the picture and my dolly interpretation. 

Yes, of course, I am going to try to do dolly versions of the other two pictures too! But it will take some time to gather the props, so it might not happen right away.

This Blythe doll is Milky Way Sugar. The leaf is part of a small imitation plant I found at Target.

This is Milky Way Sugar (I call her Eve) posing for the theme "Leopard Sass." I was shocked to discover that my Blythe dolls don't have any item of clothing with a leopard print! Luckily I found this interesting piece of fabric in my sewing room, which just happens to have a picture of a leopard on it. 

Eve is wearing the stock outfit from Mondrian, which was recently gifted to me, along with a lot of other Blythe clothes, by a sweet dolly friend. Thanks again, Susan!

Hot Cocoa

Enjoying a giant mug of hot cocoa is just one of the season's many pleasures.

This is Milky Way Sugar, posing in a great chair I found recently at the local antique mall. It is sturdy and has a lot of detail, and it was only $8!

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the triumph of the Mexican army over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. 
Just in case you wanted to know.

Okay, so, yes...this picture is very similar to the one I did last year for Cinco de Mayo. The same doll (Milky Way Sugar), wearing the same dress, in front of the same background. The guitar is a better prop than the felt taco she was holding last year, so that's an improvement! I was really out of ideas for this. Here's last year's photo, below.
