Irresistable
Jill wanted to wait until she got home to eat the donut, but it looked so delicious and smelled so amazingly good that she stood outside the bakery door and took a great big bite.

All You Need Is...
LOVE. It's all you need.
It was surprisingly difficult to decide what to do for the theme "love". There are so many ways I could have gone with it, but most of them felt too much like Valentine's Day to me. In the end, it was the simple solution that worked the best.
Simply Lilac, Prima Dolly London, Prima Dolly Amaryllis, and Cloud 9 Bowl.

Goodbye!
Overly-dramatic as usual, April waves goodbye to her sister, who is just going to the store for a bottle of milk.

Pink Agreement
They don't agree on everything, but they always agree that there is no such thing as too much PINK!
They are Ichigo Heaven (left) and Prima Dolly London (right). Yes, their hair is exactly the same color, and almost the same style. The main difference between them is that IH is RBL and PDL is FBL.

Hiking Rocks!
Emiko was surprised to discover painted boulders lining the path as she hiked in the mountains for the first time.
I was walking with my husband one evening last week, playing Pokemon Go. As we sat down on a bench (to take over a gym...you Pokemon players know what I'm talking about) I noticed a rock that had been carefully set against the back of the bench. I thought there was something special about this rock, but it was too dark to see, so I put it in my pocket. When I got home I saw that it had a picture painted on it (it's the one on the right with the sun and house); on the back was the name of a Facebook group, "Williamsburg VA Rocks!" It turns out that this is a local group of people who paint and hide rocks around town to be found by strangers. If you find one, you can keep it or re-hide it. The people in the group post pictures of rocks they have painted and are getting ready to hide, and they love it if "finders" will post pictures of their finds...so I'm going to post this picture to the group, showing my rock, plus two others that my daughter found. I'm also going to tell them about Blythe. Who knows? Maybe I'll get some of them to come over to the "Blythe side"!

Near the Water
For today's theme, "Water", I packed up a couple of Blythes and drove along the York River until we came to a pull-over spot with a clear view of the water. I had brought a wooden crate for a seat for the dolls, so I put that on the grass in front of my car, arranged a doll on it, and started shooting pictures. The pictures came out okay, but not great. I was in a hurry because I didn't want to attract attention, and my camera is not great outside because the only way to see what you are shooting is the screen on the back of the camera, which is hard to see in bright light. I much prefer the controlled environment of an indoor photo shoot, and my camera works better there too. Looking at these, I wish I could have gotten closer to the water, as it is really such a small part of each picture.
This is Bridget (Allegra Champagne) wearing a Blythe Happy dress. Out of all the pictures I took of her, this is my favorite because of the sun shining on her wavy hair.
This is Gidget (Cherry Beach Sunset) wearing the stock dress and head wrap from Pineapple Princess. The sun was so bright at her back that her skin tone looks extra dark in the shade. I love her profile in this picture.

An Apple a Day
Even if an apple a day won't keep the doctor away, apples are good for you. I did some quick research and discovered that they are full of vitamins C and A, and they are high in fiber. Best of all, they are delicious! Macintosh is our favorite. What's yours?

Grandpa always said "You will reap what you sow." Now I understand what he meant!

Baking Success
Baking can be a lot of work, but it's totally worth the effort when the results are this awesome.
This is Prima Dolly Peony. The cake and baking items are part of a set for Lori dolls that are sold at Target.

Multitasking
When she moved to the city and started her own business, Penny was pleased to discover that dog walking not only pays well, but it is also great exercise.

Lazy Day
For most people, a lazy day would mean relaxing on the bed, reading a novel. For Vera, it means relaxing on the bed and studying her favorite subject: biology!
I found this cute dolly-sized biology set recently at Target. It is meant for 18" dolls, but it works well for Blythe too. For some reason, it is in a combination of English and French--thus, the spelling "Biologie" for the title of the book.

Bath Time
The late summer weather is so perfect that even Vera's least-favorite outdoor chore is a pleasure. (For Max, it's always a pleasure!)
This is my new Blythe doll, Vera Florentine. I love her bright makeup and bright outfit; I also love her curly hair, which required no special effort to make it look pretty (unlike Home Sweet Home, whose hair still needs some work after several washings.) I couldn't figure out why she has a pea pod on her hat, until I was enlighted by my Facebook friend, Angie Coppi. Here is her comment about this Pinocchio-theme doll:
"In the original story of Pinocchio, the puppet is befriended by a wise pigeon, who teaches him to try eating something he has always hated: peas! And because he is hungry, Pinocchio eats them and love them. Another story with a moral for the children reading it."

Why do they enjoy playing "school" so much more than actually going to school?

Cat Family
Ann has such a large cat family that it's hard for her to find room to sit on the sofa.
This girl is UFO A GoGo, wearing the stock dress from Coco Collette. The cats are from different makers, but my favorite one is Schleich.

It may be September, but Autumn doesn't begin until the 22nd.
