Reading, Part 2

Why does an interruption ALWAYS happen
just as you get to the most exciting part of the book?

Juliette (Sadie Sprinkle) will deal with this distraction and get right back to reading her book.

Styling!

Daphne has a unique sense of style,
which makes her an interesting subject to photograph.

That's Candy Carnival posing, and Playful Raindrops taking the picture.

Travelling with Dolls...or Not?

Last week, my husband and I flew down to Little Rock to visit my mom for a few days. While we were travelling, I posted this picture on my Facebook page, and someone commented "I know there's a doll in that bag!"

LOL! I wish there was a doll in my bag, but I've resigned myself to the fact that I am really much happier taking dolly photos indoors. I've tried taking a doll out with me a few times, and between feeling self-conscious about people looking at me, and the difficulty of juggling the bag, doll, and camera, and the time it takes to set up the shot, I usually rush it and don't get a good picture.

I can't post on this doll blog without a picture of a doll! So here's what I've done since I got back from my trip: I sewed two Christmas dresses! I hope to make a few more in the coming week. Do you like the cute little bows in their hair? I found them in a store called Icing in the mall in Little Rock. They are made for humans, but are PERFECT for dolls!

Autumn Beauty

No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace
as I have seen in one autumnal face.

John Donne (Elegy IX: The Autumnal)

This beautiful face is Bonnie, my Raspberry Sorbet Blythe doll.

Isn't the quote from Donne just perfect? I took this picture, then looked for an appropriate quote online. I've heard of John Donne before, but didn't know that he was a 16th-century poet. This Blythe hobby makes me smarter!

Happy Election Day!

Don't forget to vote, America!

I actually voted early, by absentee ballot, because I'll be travelling on election day. This sticker was included with the ballot, so I will be wearing it proudly. (And because I was travelling, I neglected to post this on the 8th! But I do like this photo, so I am posting it a few days late.)
