The owl is a finger puppet I bought at Made, which sells ethically made goods from around the world.

As I flipped through the rest of the book, I found this same page printed on the inside back cover, already colored, as an example! Yay! Then I went through my doll clothes and found this cow print dress, which I made a long time ago and had forgotten about. Also yay!
