There’s a website I often use when I’m looking for inspiration for a dolly picture, called A-Z Quote.com. At the top of the page there is always a quote of the day. I thought it would be a fun personal challenge to commit to using the daily quote for a doll picture, sight unseen. It’s a bit risky, since it could be any sort of a quote, about any subject, and it might not easily lend itself to being portrayed by a doll…but that’s also what makes it a real challenge. So, I did it yesterday, and it worked out fine! Zyanya has written the quote on the chalkboard for us. I had no idea who Claude Bernard was, but that’s another good thing about this challenge—in doing some research about the person who is quoted, might learn something (and I did! He was a French scientist who lived in the 1800’s.)

The world is full of surprising things.
For example, I was pleasantly surprised when Lady Panacea’s hair turned out grease-free after her second spa. I thought it was going to take more work. Another surprise was finding this cute little sundress in the Junie Moon Happy Bag I got a few months ago…it looks so good on her, which is great because I was really wondering if there was anything I would like on her besides her stock. Of course, neither of those things compares to Elfreda’s surprise at seeing some sort of half-human creature smiling at her from a mysterious door behind her bench at the park. Hopefully this is just a dream and she will wake up soon. Hopefully.

This week’s photo challenge theme is “Dare to fly! Take the leap!” in the Facebook group Blythe Pure and Simple. I’ve actually done quite a few pictures in the past that could work for this theme, and I almost re-did the one of the doll flying through the sky while holding a bunch of balloons, but it’s always good to try something new, so this is what I came up with. This Blythe is Unicorn Maiden wearing the dress and wings from Spright Beauty. Why didn’t I just use Spright Beauty as the model? Mainly because I couldn’t immediately locate her, and Unicorn Maiden was right in front of me. That happens to me a lot, and is one of the problems of having 70+ Blythe dolls!
When I was searching for ideas involving dolls and makeup for yesterday’s picture, I came across this joke. It was too good not to use! The Middie is Nellie Nibbles and the Neo is Cousin Olivia.

Lady Panacea finally arrived here a few days ago, much to my delight! She is all-around gorgeous, with a wonderful ethereal vibe. Her amazing dark green hair did require some attention; it wasn’t beautiful right out of the box; but one hair spa and lots of brushing later, it is looking very nice.
I love her accessories: her headpiece, earrings, shoes, and leaf-shaped pull charm are all gold, as is her stand. Her cape is BIG and beautifully embroidered especially on the back of the hood. And her dress? So lovely in every way, with little sewn-on flowers on the sheer overlay. She’s a winner!
