Rainbow

Be the rainbow.

My new Sonny Angel Rainbow boy and Simply Sparkly Spark Blythe (Alice) doll are perfect together. Alice's dress is by WPJenny on Etsy.

The rainbow is made from Crazy Bones, which were a popular fad toy about 15 years ago. Four pieces came in a package for about two dollars.  My children and I would buy a couple of packs every time we went to the bookstore where they were sold, then play the game on the kitchen floor: both players set up a line of their pieces, and then took turns throwing a single crazy bone to try to knock out their opponent's pieces. (Read about Crazy Bones on  Wikipedia.)

Rainy Day Reflection

"The only time we can walk in the rain is when it's raining! Hurry, let's go before it stops."

Marina, my Playful Raindrops Blythe doll, is joined by one of the latest Sonny Angel releases--they all have a weather theme. This boy is Thunder.

Outdoor Play

Even though she loves to read, Maddie quickly tossed her book aside when her friend appeared at the window, asking if she could come outdoors to play.

That's Cool Pool Lemonade with the book, and Francoise Ananassa (named June) at the window.

I've recently discovered that people have been using some of my photos without either having my permission or giving me credit for the photos, so I'm going to try to remember to "sign" my pictures when I edit them from now on. There's my name, right under Madie's leg.

Hey Froggie!

Can you tell me the way to the pool?

This is Maddie. She is Cool Pool Lemonade, and she joined my dolly family on Mother's Day. I already have her big sister, Cherry Beach Sunset. Since I have tickets for BlytheCon Brooklyn in October and the theme doll is "tanned girls", I'm thinking of bringing them both with me...if I actually go! (We'll see what happens.)

I made this photo is for the Blythe a Day group on Flickr; the theme is "frog."

New Artwork

Life imitates art.

My daughter Jenna, the artist, made this AMAZING little drawing for me for Mother's Day. She looked at Blythe pictures for inspiration, then did the drawing from her imagination, so it isn't supposed to be a particular doll. The background is filled in with an intricate tangle of leaves, vines, flowers, stars, and one little heart--this is her unique personal style that shows up in most of her drawings (you can see more of her work in her Etsy store, JennaAndersenArtShop.)  I love it so much!!!!!

Pink Hair

I recently posted a picture of my blue-haired Blythes; today I am pleased to present my pink-haired girls. I've added their stock name abbreviation under each one, and just for clarity, I will write them out below. The abbreviations I used came from the app called "My Dolly Collection for Blythe"--I've noticed that different people sometimes use different abbreviations, which can be confusing. This app is the first thing I've found that conveniently lists every Neo Blythe (even the very newest, not yet released dolls!) in an easy-to-navigate app for my phone and iPad. It is a work in progress; future updates will allow you catalog your personal collection (I can't wait!)

I've left out my peach-haired girls from this line-up...the difference between peach and pink can be quite subtle, so I understand that some people might classify them differently. I was going to include Dainty Biscuit, and I actually took a picture with her in the group, but she just didn't look right and I had to take her out--even though her hair is officially "pink". Another confusing moment came when I realized that Prima Dolly Peach has pink hair! That's her, second from the right.

Here are their stock names, from left to right:

My Melody X Blythe--Softly Cuddle You and Me
Snowflake Sonata
Ichigo Heaven
Prima Dolly London
Prima Dolly Peony
Charlotte de Fleurs
Sprite (sometimes spelled Spright) Beauty
Prima Dolly Peach
My Little Candy

Mother's Day

It's Mother's Day in the USA today. My wish for every mother around the world is that you will have a day full of blessings and happiness!

It's amateur night at the Comedy Club.

Music

It's best to have an uncritical audience when you are just learning to play the guitar.

Blue

For the theme "blue", I present all the blue-haired girls in my collection. I love the fantasy hair colors; in fact, I loved my first Candy Carnival so much so that I bought a second one!

As I was adding their name abbreviations under their pictures, I discovered that Mandy Cotton Candy isn't MCC, as you might expect, because there is an older release with those initials (Mono Comme Ca).

Modern Art

When this painting recently appeared in a high-profile art gallery, the critics raved:

"'Three Blythe Muses" is a masterful explosion of color and movement. Modern art just got a makeover! If you see only one work of art this year, make it this one."

Three "Simply" sisters as art. Thumpty Thump, Sparkly Spark, and Bubble Boom. For the theme "Modern Art" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

It's not a celebration without cake!

Coca Cola

Thirsty?

If you guessed that I made this photo for the theme "Coca Cola" (for the Blythe a Day group on Flickr), you are correct! It was invented on this day in 1886. (Wow, it's been around a long time!)

This is Anastasia, my Stella Serendipitous Blythe doll.

Bike

Gray skies? Be your own sunshine.

This is Tillie, my Simply Bubble Boom Blythe doll, with two Sonny Angel friends. I made this picture for the theme "bike" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. We don't have a dolly-sized bike, so I wheeled my son's bike out into the driveway; I think it makes an interesting background for this photo.

Pets

Love isn't love until you give it away.

This is Veronica, my Bow Wow Trad Blythe doll. Her dog is Gidget, a McDonald's Happy Meal toy from the movie "The Secret Life of Pets".

Explore

Never stop exploring.

This is a "re-do" of a photo I made a couple of years ago for the same Blythe a Day theme on Flickr. You can see the first one by clicking HERE .

She is Emiko, my Lady Camellia Blythe doll. This is the first time I've photographed her without her kimono. I was reluctant to take it off, because it is rather involved to put back on...and I fear that she may never wear it again!

Wild West

"Bring the taste of the wild west to your breakfast table...buy Sugarless Southwestern Poofs today (in the family-size box)!"

Paisley scored another acting job--that's two in two weeks! She is already dreaming of fame and fortune.

(This is for the theme "Wild West" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The cowboy boots are the most "western" attire in my dollies' closet, so I had to really give this theme some thought. Luckily, I remembered this little cereal box that my daughter Jenna designed for an art class assignment when she was in high school; it's a bit of a stretch, but I think this kind of fits the theme!)

Paisley is my Mandy Cotton Candy Blythe doll.
