Pretty Portrait

She really is as pretty as a picture.

What do you do with your favorite doll pictures after you have posted them online? I like to turn them into post cards. This Blythe doll is Allegra Champagne posing with a post card of herself from a picture I took a couple of years ago.

There's a new girl on the beach: Asha Alvira is giving Mermaid Tasha a run for her money. This picture is for the theme "Swim" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Rainy Day Blues

It's raining, but you still have to walk the dog.

This Blythe doll is Vera Florentine wearing Nicky Lad's stock outfit (which I've had for ages and never used before. It's really cute, especially the slicker. The umbrella came from somewhere else...I don't remember where.) This picture is for the theme "Rainy Day Blues" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The one advantage of the very wet weather we've had this week is that I was able to take this picture!

Teddy Bear Picnic

There are few things as pleasant as a picnic eaten in perfect comfort.                         --W. Somerset Maugham

As a child, I loved stuffed animals, but I had kitties and bunnies rather than bears--so I've never had or attended a teddy bear picnic before. Is that weird?

These dolls are: on the far left, Middie Lena Elena; then Cinema Princess, Asha Alvira, and Sea Sailor See. The table and food are for Our Generation Dolls at Target. This picture is for the theme "Teddy Bear Picnic" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Float

My soul is full of longing for the secret of the sea, and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me.       --Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Book Report

Oh, the unparalleled agony of trying to write a book report on a novel that she neither enjoyed nor understood. At least it was fun using the antique typewriter.

This doll is Raspberry Sorbet, posing for the theme "Bloomsday" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I had never heard of Bloomsday before so I looked it up. It's an annual celebration of the life of James Joyce, on June 16th--the day his novel Ulysses (set in 1904) takes place. The protagonist is named Leopold Bloom, hence the name Bloomsday. I've never read Ulysses, but I found it for free on Amazon for Kindle, so I downloaded it and will try to find out what all the fuss is about, because I also found out that it is considered by many to be the greatest novel of the 20th century! The things I learn while photographing my dolls!

Back to Nature

Take time to wonder at the mysteries of nature.

This is another picture from the past...I took it in 2016. I'm happy to have a chance to use it again for the theme "Back to Nature" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The Blythe doll is Raspberry Sorbet; the little woodland creature is a Sonny Angel.

Outdoor Movie Night

They weren't sure about this whole "outdoor movie night" thing, being indoor girls; and yes, there were bugs, and bats flying around which made them cringe; but there were also cooling breezes, and bright constellations of stars in the velvet sky, which made up for most of their discomfort.

These Blythe dolls are Pretty Peony, Simply Lilac, and Sea Sailor See.

The annual Neighborhood Pet Races are a favorite summer activity for everyone in Blytheville. Who will win?

The Neo Blythe is Picnic Al Fresco. The Middies are Cool Pool Lemonade, Yellow Marshmallow and Smiley Waffle. The animals are Littlest Pet Shop pets.

Love is in the Air

This Blythe doll is Cadence Majorette posing for the theme "June Brides" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. I almost skipped this theme because my dolls don't have a wedding dress or veil, but I thought I would try to improvise a veil with some net fabric and a crown-shaped hair clip. It worked out okay!

Public Service Announcement

Prevent a fall! Put your trash in the proper receptacle.

These lovely Blythe dolls are Tsumori Spirit (left) and My Little Candy (right). I'm glad to have a chance to use my polymer clay banana peel again! I made it a few years ago for another "slip and fall" photo. This picture is for the theme "Upsy Daisy" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

This picture is for the theme "Dessert" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. (I forgot the hidden object again so don't bother looking for it!)

Marketing

Patty had just finished her shopping when a photographer snapped her picture and asked her to sign a release. The next thing she knew, her image was in all the Mighty Market advertising, and she got a check in the mail for $5000! Now she's a Mighty Market customer for life.

This Blythe doll is Patty Patch Fluffy Coat, wearing Country Summer's stock outfit. This picture is for the theme "Market" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr.

Pearls

Some girls love diamonds, some prefer pearls.

This Blythe doll is Cherry Beach Sunset, posing for the theme "Pearls" in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. Sadly, I forgot to include the hidden item in this picture. Maybe I will remember next time.

Say Something Nice

I've been looking for dolly photo inspiration this week, and it finally came to me in the form of an invitation to this month's Blythe a Day group on Flickr. Yay! I made this picture for June first's theme, "Say Something Nice," featuring Stella Serendipitous. There is a hidden object option this month: we can choose an object to include in all our pictures for others to find. Can you guess what my object is?
