The End

All good things must come to an end…and so we say goodbye to this month of apple pictures. It was fun, but I am glad to be moving on to my favorite season: Christmas!!

This Blythe doll is Donna Donut, posing with most of my apple props in a flat lay.

December Plans

December is almost here, so it’s time to make plans!

I’m very happy with the way the November photo challenge went in Blythe Pure and Simple on Facebook. With the “apple” theme lasting the entire month, more people had time to enter photos; and the incentive of prizes may also have contributed to the increase in participation. So it seems like the best way to go forward is: more time! And, prizes! I will be offering both in December. Join us on Facebook for all the details.

Crazy?

My friends like to joke that I’m one cat short of crazy. Well guess what? Today I got a new cat!!

This Blythe doll is Miss Sally Rice, posing for 30 Days of Apples in Blythe Pure and Simple on Facebook. I added the apple tree drawing to the jigsaw puzzle background to make this work for the theme, because I’m running out of ideas featuring apples, and I really wanted to use this jigsaw puzzle that I recently finished! Her floofy white cat is from VioletPie on Etsy.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! I brought the pumpkin pie—I made it myself!

This Blythe doll is Dear Forest Deer, posing for the theme of Thanksgiving, and also for 30 Days of Apples. We do have a gorgeous doll-size apple pie, but it is too heavy for her to hold! This pumpkin pie is made from air-dry clay, so it is almost weightless. The background is a jigsaw puzzle. I made her outfit (and the pie).

Magnificent Maude

In the history of juggling, never had there been anyone even half as great as the amazing…Magnificent Maude!

This Blythe doll is Good Neighbor Cafe, posing for 30 Days of Apples in Blythe Pure and Simple on Facebook. This is a chalkboard flat lay.

It’s a good day to have a good day!

Relax

It’s a beautiful day! What not relax with some music, a magazine, and an apple?

This Blythe doll is Simply Guava posing for 30 Days of Apples in Blythe Pure and Simple on Facebook. The background is a jigsaw puzzle.

Nice View

The view was worth the hike.

These Blythe dolls are Sea Sailor See and Lena Elena, for 30 Days of Apples in Blythe Pure and Simple on Facebook. The background is a poster. I found Lena’s crazy-looking doll at the antique mall.

Lunch Time

We both agree that the best part of the school day is lunch!

These Blythe dolls are Vera Florentine and Cousin Olivia, posing for 30 Days of Apples in Blythe Pure and Simple on Facebook. The lunch trays are for Our Generation dolls at Target.

What Could Be Worse?

There’s actually something worse than finding a worm in your apple: finding half a worm!

This lovely Blythe doll is Heavenly Strawberry, wearing the prize dress and headband for the 30 Days of Apples challenge in Blythe Pure and Simple on Facebook.

100% Natural

I have a sudden hankering for an apple!

This Blythe doll is Coquette Lumiere, posing for 30 Days of Apples in Blythe Pure and Simple on Facebook. The background and mask are scrapbooking paper; the words were added in PicMonkey.

Apple Core

Isn’t it nice to get an unexpected compliment?!

This Blythe doll is Prima Dolly Marigold, posing for 30 Days of Apples in Blythe Pure and Simple on Facebook. The apple core is a wooden ornament.

The Big Apple

Cece got a vendor’s license, so she is selling apples in New York City! Her slogan is “Don’t settle for a hot dog; enjoy an APPLE!”

This Blythe doll is Cinema Princess, posing for 30 Days of Apples in Blythe Pure and Simple on Facebook. The apple-head Sonny Angel is part of a New York City set. Cece’s outfit was in the goody bag I got at BlytheCon NYC in 2013. Hat by Poppy Tree Lane on Etsy.

Eat Up!

Five servings of fruit and vegetables every day? That’s a lot of chewing!

This Blythe doll is Heavenly Strawberry, posing for 30 Days of Apples in Blythe Pure and Simple on Facebook. The background is a fun jigsaw puzzle I recently completed, and her egg chair is for Bratz dolls.

Harvest

The harvest this year has been great! The apples are bigger than ever!

These Middie Blythe dolls are Smiley Waffle and Nellie Nibbles, posing in a flat lay for 30 Days of Apples in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook.

Friendly Competition

Which will sell better at the Farmer’s Market this week: apples or pumpkins? It’s hard to say, but the competition will motivate both girls to be better sales persons!

These Blythe dolls are Devi Delacour and Cloud 9 Bowl, posing for 30 Days of Apples in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook. The pumpkin truck came from Target last year. The cute helmets came from an Etsy seller who is no longer active (Poppy Tree Lane).

Dilly-Dally

Make time to dilly-dally with your friends.

This Middie Blythe doll is Nellie Nibbles, posing with her Sonny Angel friends for 30 Days of Apples in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook. The background is a painting my daughter made for me. Someday I will make pants for the Sonny Angels!

Maker

If life gives you apples, make apple pie! Or caramel apples! Or apple juice!

This Blythe doll is Sarah Shades, posing with her Sonny Angel friend for 30 Days of Apples in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook. The hutch and appliances in the background came from the antique mall.

Apple Rain

Marina has a recurring dream, in which she is sitting outside while it’s raining apples. That would be scary if she wasn’t wearing a helmet!

This Blythe doll is Playful Raindrops, posing for 30 Days of Apples in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook. I found this apple sign at the antique mall, and I was really on the fence about spending $11 on it…it’s not something I will be able to use very much in doll pictures, but it is perfect for this month of apple pictures! I will try to use it at least once more this month, then maybe I will find a place for it in on a shelf in my house, grouping it with other fun objects for a colorful vignette.

Think Safety

When picking apples remember: safety first! Ask a friend to hold to ladder while you climb. Then share the apples with her!

These Blythe dolls are Donna Doughnut and Vera Florentine, posing for the theme “Apples “ in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook. The ladder is from Boyd’s Bears.

Sweet

All Blythe dolls are as sweet as pie; don’t you agree?

This Middie Blythe doll is Apple Jamlicious, wearing her stock outfit and posing for 30 Days of Apples in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook. This gorgeous pie prop came from Etsy.

Dream is hard at work, sewing dresses for the giveaway for the 30 Days of Apples photo challenge in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook. Next up: matching headbands! You can enter the raffle by posting a picture in the group with a stock Blythe doll and any sort of apple. Why not join us? The winners also received a limited edition 2025 Blythe doll wall calendar! WOW!

It’s a Sign

As they were setting up their booth at the Farmers Market, Sadie and Odette realized that they had forgotten to bring their sign. Oh no! What to do? They managed to find some paper and colored pencils, and went to work. Ten minutes later, the problem was solved.

These Blythe dolls are Sadie Sprinkle and Odette Lake of Tears, posing for two things: 30 Days of Apples, and Astrid’s giveaway, both on Facebook. The background is a jigsaw puzzle.

Fried Apples?

Who can resist fried apples? Yum, yum!

This Blythe doll is Precocious Candy’s Mushroom posing with her Sonny Angel friend for another “Apple” themed picture in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook. You can enter the raffle to win a dress similar to the one she’s wearing (with a blue background instead of yellow, with a matching headband) just by posting a picture with apples and a stock Blythe doll in the group this month!

If you are wondering about these canned apples, here’s the deal: they are just apple slices that have been simmered in a light syrup with cinnamon. If you want actual fried apples, you have to follow the recipe on the can and cook them yourself! I feel that the name of this product is misleading!

Be Prepared

Bunny always carries an apple in her bag, “just in case”, and it really came in handy today. She lured this wild horse and her foal back to the apple farm, and now she doesn’t need to buy a donkey to pull the apple cart!

This Blythe doll is Blue Rabbit, wearing Rachel’s Ribbon’s stock dress, coat and boots. The horses are from the antique mall. This is for the 30 Days of Apples challenge in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook.

Placidly

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.” —from The Desiderata by Max Ehrmann

This pretty Blythe doll is Fighting Milk Saranghae posing for the theme “Apples” in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook. This is a flat lay.

Got Your Hat?

Don’t forget to wear a hat if you go outside today. The November weather is quite chilly in Blytheville.

This is Heavenly Strawberry wearing most of her stock outfit (the boots came from Nicky Lad). Her stock hat is a bit weird; it’s almost a complete sphere, and the only way I could get it to work is to tuck the bottom half inside. Even then, it won’t stay tucked by itself; I had to sew it in place. Now it’s cute! For the theme “Apples”.

Apple Cart

“Come on, Vera! One, two, three, HEAVE-HO!” The first item on their list of things to buy with the money from the farm stand is: a donkey to pull the apple cart!

These two Neo Blythe dolls are Vera Florentine and Prima Dolly Cassis; riding in the cart is my newest Middie, Parson Grace. The background is a jigsaw puzzle I recently completed. This picture is for the theme “Apples” in the Blythe Pure and Simple group on Facebook.

Apple Delivery!

Here comes Donna with another load of apples for the farm stand. She is such a hard worker!

This Blythe doll is Donna Doughnut, with a cute apple-themed wheelbarrow from the antique mall. This is one of the props that inspired me to do a month of “apple” photos.

The Apple Harvest

It’s “All hands on deck” at the orchard when the apples are ripe! Devi always volunteers to run the farm stand.

This Blythe doll is Devi Delacour, posing with the cute farm stand I found at the antique mall. I found the gorgeous apple sculpture she’s holding there too (it’s by Jim Shore).

Heavenly!

Strange but true: Strawberry reports that her favorite fruit is an apple, not a strawberry!!

This Blythe doll is Heavenly Strawberry, posing on a jigsaw puzzle. This picture serves two purposes: it kicks off this month of “Apple” themed pictures (hopefully I will be able to come up with 30 pictures for this) and it introduces my newest Blythe. Her hair is so bright and so, so thick! I absolutely LOVE the way her lip color perfectly matches her hair, and her blush does too. She’s a gem!

I love the cute graphics on her box!

When she arrived, her hair was frizzy and tangled, this is the “before” picture.

Ahh, this is better! A shampoo with Dawn dish soap, and a dip in near-boiling water made a big improvement in her hair. The finishing touch was a few spritzes of wig conditioning spray. That’s my secret to smooth dolly hair.
