Travelling with Dolls...or Not?

Last week, my husband and I flew down to Little Rock to visit my mom for a few days. While we were travelling, I posted this picture on my Facebook page, and someone commented "I know there's a doll in that bag!"

LOL! I wish there was a doll in my bag, but I've resigned myself to the fact that I am really much happier taking dolly photos indoors. I've tried taking a doll out with me a few times, and between feeling self-conscious about people looking at me, and the difficulty of juggling the bag, doll, and camera, and the time it takes to set up the shot, I usually rush it and don't get a good picture.

I can't post on this doll blog without a picture of a doll! So here's what I've done since I got back from my trip: I sewed two Christmas dresses! I hope to make a few more in the coming week. Do you like the cute little bows in their hair? I found them in a store called Icing in the mall in Little Rock. They are made for humans, but are PERFECT for dolls!

  1. I travel with dolls - but you do have to be a bit brave and there are some days when they stay in my bag. Being with someone who is supportive is a great help - for moral support and occasional 'cover' :-) All that said - you would be surprised at how many people don't even notice you or your doll ... We can be too self-conscious about being eccentric - mostly, other people are quite self-absorbed in their own thoughts, their smart phones etc.
